Real Heroes: Firefighter gives back to real firefighters photo

Epicenter Studios, makers of Real Heroes: Firefighter for the Wii, plan to give a portion of their proceeds from the sale of this game back to real firefighters.

As we mentioned in our preview of the game, the Firefighter Cancer Support Network will receive the donations from the developer. Epicenter says that they're looking to give back to those that keep us safe.

"We wanted to try to give back to these brave women and men who put their lives on the line every day to keep the public safe," said Nathaniel McClure, CEO of Epicenter Studios. "This is our attempt to bring recognition and support to a wonderful organization that not only supports firefighters battling cancer but also aggressively promotes prevention and early detection."

To celebrate this announcement, they've sent a long new screenshots of the game, which you'll find in our gallery below. The press release mentions the game's "top-notch voice cast," which includes one of Destructoid's very own, naia-the-gamer. Combine the opportunity to hear her voice work, this good cause, and a $29.99 price tag, and Real Heroes: Firefighter seems like a solid buy.

"Real Heroes: Firefighter seems like a solid buy."

Sorry but you can't fool us. The engine is over 11 years old and unmodified.

Noble cause aside, that game looks really crappy.

Why are some of you assuming that top notch graphics are obligatory on a game selling for only $30?

Would you pay $30 for something that looks like I drew it in Paint....on windows 95? Probably not.

@vidvid

I seriously doubt you can draw anything like that in Paint, sarcastic.

I think it's awesome that this game is actually supporting a cause.

I used to play this in the arcades with my wife all the time. It was pretty fun.

Totally going to buy this. Seems like exactly the kind of game the Wii Remote was made for. I've never needed super-fancyultrareal graphics. If it's fun it's fun! And Yeah, I'll just assume Naia-the-Gamer voices the whole game. "She sounds just like a large black man," I'll muse.

I will go play this at Kyle's house. I am interested to hear naia in the game.
