Is it FRIDAY already? That's madness. The past week has gone by pretty fast for me. As you may or may not know, I started work on a silly little cartoon featuring Senor Beedog, and that's pretty much all I've done for the past eight days or so.
I had originally hoped to finish it by the end of the month, but once I got started, I got so sucked into my work that now it's looking more like the end of the weekend; at least for the art and animation. As soon as i figure out what Beedog's voice should sound like and do all the audio, it should be pretty much ready.
So yeah. That's happening. Big thanks to everybody who's been looking forward to this silly nonsense and showing so much support. I really appreciate all your kind words and I hope it meets your expectations. If everything keeps going smoothly, you might get the first episode as a Christmas present.
This is literally the first thing of this nature I've ever tried to do, and I have a whopping seven days' experience in Adobe Flash. So I can't promise it'll be any good. I can, however, promise that it will be utterly ridiculous.
That's what I'm doing this weekend. What about you?
I remember my first time with Flash, back in the MX 2004 days. She can be a bit of a bitch at first, but after a little while you start to see all the cool things she can do. I can't wait to see how your cartoon turns out.
I'm doing schoolwork and seeing Avatar in 3D on Sunday with my dad. It's been a while since I've seen him, so I don't have the heart to tell him that 3D gives me migraines. I'm also going to be doing schoolwork for the rest of the month, because I have a month of catching up to do by the middle of January. Yay ADHD.
After all the heavy games I've played lately, I'm switching gears with some Puzzlegeddon on XBLA and Ratchet & Clank's latest this weekend. Also, ready to last-minute Xmas shop!
Flash has a beastly learning curve, can't wait to see how the experiment turns out!
I'm driving to Arizona to be with my inlaws. I think we are bringing Beatles: Rock Band to keep them (and me) sane. So I guess I'll be playing a lot of DS games over there. :P
Ok I fired up my crappy voice recorder to do some samples.
You know, the first time I saw the design of Beedog, I thought he should sound buzzed and a bit squeaky like this. But when I saw the mustache counterpart, I thought he should sound awkwardly manly like this.
Keep up the effort. The trailer was awesome and looking forward to seeing it all come together. Friday! Buying gifts for my dog, making chocolate chip cookies, and probably playing some more of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons.
It will be great and I hear Flash is less obnoxious than it was a couple years ago. (haaated that program). Anyway! Weekend will be consisting of late gift buying, early gift giving and a Christmas "party".
Personally, I think Beedog should sound like the Antonio Banderas bee from the Nasonex commercials. That's what he's always sounded like in my head. JOURNALISM!!
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Although from the sound of it, you aren't coming up anymore for it.
But then again, you probably have a different idea in mind.
In the mean time I'll be soaking myself in JOURNALISM.

There's a snowstorm incoming my way. FFFFUUUUUU
So I'll be playing the new TF2 update, some Halo 3 ODST, and shoveling snow away from my car.

Also, what version of Flash do you have?
Beedog is a gentleman and I think he should sound as one.
Looking forward to this project! Gambatte!
