Everyone seemed to like GoGo the other day, so I'm using this as an excuse to post another video. This one has a skeleton in it, though. And a scary cat guy. It's also a good example of the fact that you never know what to expect from a GoGo song. Its like four tracks in one. Fun facts:
It's pronounced "go go nana ichi hachi hachi"
I am in love with Yuu Nakashima
Totally not kidding, we're getting married
I need a new bass and I was thinking Fender. Thoughts?
I wonder if Niero regrets letting me get away with this every week
Fender fretless jazz bass. I also have the same model with frets in red. I've been playing bass for 11 years and can't recommend the j bass enough. It's a nice versatile model that served me well in whatever I've played between rock, jazz, and metal. Yes, the frets are still painted on the neck there, I'm not good enough to play without them.
My wife's working this weekend, so all weekend with the kids. Maybe a little Super Mario Galaxy with my daughter (she loves Co-star mode). Then a little Mass Effect for me after their bedtime. Oh yeah and house cleaning, yay (I mean Boo)!
If you got the $, an American made jazz or P would be perfect. The Spector Rebop is also a fantastic bass, provided you have $1400 bucks. Somethig cheap? The Mexi-made Fender P bass Special Deluxe is about $700 and has active pickups. It's pretty slick. Or you could just say fuck it and drop 3 grand on a Warwick Thumb and have the best bass of all time. Just saying...
I'm probably just gonna be playing Civ IV again. I find that once I start playing that game again, I have to play it nonstop until I get bored with destroying empires. I'm also trying the "Fall from Heaven" mod, which is an awesome RPG over for Civ. I definately recommend it if you're looking for something new to do with Civ. It's really hard though.
I'm not a bass player, but I don't think you can go wrong with a bass like that. Of course, you could go for a Les Claypool type of bass, but that's just me.
This weekend, I've got the demo of Killing Floor (just to give it a shot), probably will have to pre-order L4D2, dying of anticipation to play Borderlands (Steam version), modding my copy of Fallout 3 (Fat Man: Carpet Layer edition...look it up), and playing guitar (ESP/ltd Ninja...yeah, it's amazing. The first version, the one with a mirror pick guard too). Is everyone else ready to FRIDAY?!
This weekend is a bit of 'teh suck'. Caught a cold so I need to cancel my birthday festivities (my actual birthday is on Wednesday, but I digess)
SO I'll take some time to play my very neglected Wii and watch some really bad kung fu movies I got off of Swap A Dvd. Master of the Flying Guillotine sounds like good times to me, cooties or not.
If you've got the money, I have to second the Fender jazz bass. They're really nice. I'd prefer an ESP, but I'm a guitar player, so you should probably ignore that. >_>
This weekend I'm studying to take a test for a new job. I'm also bringing my Dreamcast to my parent's house to play Soul Calibur against my younger siblings on their glorious 60" HDTV w/surround using the VGA converter box I got 2 weeks back. With any luck I may have some time to get in a shmup or two as well. Playing this weekend may push me towards upgrading my 34" HDTV.
Fender's are fantastic, quality-wise, but I hate the damned huge-ass tuning keys. If you got the dough, I say go Rickenbacker, as they are damned sexy bass guitars, but they'll set ya back a grand, maybe less if you can find a good deal. Good luck with yer bass buying, maestro!
@KaptainFiggs: Yeah, can't afford a Rickenbacker. That'd be my first choice if I could, trust me. I can't afford the Fender, either, but it's a more likely option.
@P-bass people: That's actually what I'm looking to replace. I want volume control on both pickups so I can has maek THUNDER.
you could always go with a squier but you know have it modeled after something thats not the p bass... all these ibanez suggestions arent bad as theyre decently cheap
I love my Rickenbacker, but in my opinion, the second best is the Geddy Lee Jazz Bass. Which I'd recommend getting off of ebay, because the price has fucking doubled from when I was looking at basses for purchase... The Geddy Jazz is a sexy mix of Fender sound with a thin ric-ish neck! I'd go for that one if you could get it for 600 or less.
Yeah, I think it's gonna be the jazz bass I linked to. I played one at the store the other day and it sounded like armageddon. Thanks for the input, fellow noisemakers <3
Quite ready'ish.
If I had the money (like say, I won a competition or something, hint hint, nag nag, how many weeks can it take a letter from the us to sweden!?), a cheap bass guitar is actually next on my list. Making music for a game, and bass guitar plugins 1. are more work / take more time / can't really "jam" / generally sound worse, and 2. almost cost as much as an actual bass guitar anyway.
ibanez basses are realy fun to play, but they sometimes have really cheap hardware. scratchy knobs galore and FOAM pads behind the neck pickups on the cheaper ones. give me a break.

I think you should team up with this dude
when you get your new bass.

My friday? I gotta finish Tools of Destruction. Yes, Tools of Destruction!
and I'd go with A Fernandes Gravity, but then I'm only going by sounds in the music store and not skill.

Also, Katamari Forever finally arrived, yay!
HAPPY HAPPY BDAY!

Check out "Dir en grey" they have some pretty metalicous songs. I caught them on a Family Values tour a few years ago and thought they where excellent
Happy birthday, Electric Goldfish!
@P-bass people: That's actually what I'm looking to replace. I want volume control on both pickups so I can has maek THUNDER.
Also, I found The Red Star in a bargain bin without even looking for it. Boo-yah FRIDAY.
