Ive never got into rayman but i do havea 3ds so i might pick this up but i did just buy the complete gta collection off of steam for 50 bucks lol
Not entirely on subject, but Rayman 3D was an awful port. It's been a pretty long time since I played the original Rayman 2, but I'm pretty sure it didn't have all the sound bugs of the 3DS version. The 3D was also awful, and the whole thing felt cheaper than the original game, even if it came out more than 10 years before. The fact that the "loading" images weren't even resized to to 3DS screen was a good indicator of the care that went into that release...
I hope they give a bit more love to the 3DS port of Rayman Origins...!

This is only a very loose remake of Rayman 1. To me, this is one of my favourite games of all time; it was the first ever game I was bought, and the first game I played on my Gameboy Color.
The music, the gameplay, the levels. I love this game. Will be definitely picking it up.

I remember playing this game when i was younger. Playing it now, i can say it has aged poorly. Rayman is very slow to compensate for the screen size. because of this it always feel unjustified that you didn't reach a platform. There is also one music track that loops for the majority of the game.
Used to have this game for the GBC. I remember it being kind of crap compared to the original Rayman.
The 3DS version of Rayman 2 was a sorce port of the PC version, which faces similar problems, unlike the DS versio which was made from scratch and a blast to play
The Rayman Game Boy Color game was one of my favorites when I was little. Granted, it was the first non-Pokemon game I ever bought, so my 20/20 hindsight may be in part due to rose-tinted glasses.

Is the DS version actually any good? I got the 3DS version when I bought my 3DS. There are definitely technical problems, but they're tolerable. Isn't the lack of any analog stick a problem?

It's a Virtual Console game, and a Game Boy Color one at that, so North America will probably get this in about 2 years.

@sewageking The DS version is a blast, the lack of anolouge stick does nothing to hinder it, since run is alcolated to its own button, ala Super Mario 64 DS. I would image that the 3DS joystick would only make it better, the graffix are somewhere between the n64 and pc versions but the game play is tight
