Oh please God yes. Probably won't happen but I'd pick it up Day 1 if it arrives on the PS3 or 360.
for some reason the game look very muddy and not colourful and bright like Origins.
but we'll see :P
And after various experiences with Bethesda and Obsidian, I'm starting to have a higher opinion of developers who would rather delay it and get it right the first time around when people will in fact just settle for a buggy game with the promise of "we'll fix it later".
Plus, that's $60 saved that can go to buying another launch title. And one less game for what will likely become a WiiU backlog. Plus, I didn't have the money to preorder a system before they ran out, so I likely can't get a WiiU at launch.
Still, it must suck for those really looking forward to it.
i'm happy that it got delayed - finally Ubisoft understood that they can't constantly send half of their lineup to die and spread the releases of their games. this gives Rayman a better start than being clusterfucked by Assassin's Creed 3, ZombiU, Far Cry 3, Call of Duty, Halo and fuckton of other games. they already have 6 titles coming out for Wii U in 2012 including Rabbids Land.
According to level designer Chris McEntee, who spoke with Nintendo Power this month, “we chose to really focus on Wii U specifically because it has a special toolset, and because everyone that buys it gets what they need to play the game.”
“Well, technically we could to it with SmartGlass [for Xbox 360] and with the Vita being linked to the PlayStation 3. The possibility could be there, but we chose to really focus on Wii U specifically because it has a special toolset, and because everyone that buys it gets what they need to play the game.”
McEntee then added:
“We don’t want to have the player dependent on other technology that they have to purchase to make sure they can play the full experience. Here you buy the Wii U system, you buy the game, and you can experience all of the content without extras. And we didn’t want to give somebody half of the experience just for the sake of getting it out on another console. We want the player to get everything that we have to offer them from this game.”

If you think about it, the game has to be possible for one player to complete, as not everyone is going to be able to control Rayman and the Touch Screen (Murfy) at the same time. Ubisoft stated that Murfy will basically be AI if you play by yourself.
Hence, I don't see how this couldn't be a multi-platform release down the line. McEntee's statements are admirable, but his bosses say "ship the game for the PS3 and 360," they could easily do so.
Well, never mind. Everyone can ignore my comment. That level designer makes a lot of sense.
