Rayman coming to DSiWare photo

Having already revealed Dragon's Lair for DSiWare, it seems that Germany's USK rating board is at it again. This time, the board has let the world know that Ubisoft's limbless mascot, Rayman, is making his way to the Nintendo handheld's downloadable service.

Nothing has been revealed about the title so far, outside of the rather generic Rayman DSiWare name, which we can safely assume is a placeholder. Whether or not Rayman's spotlight usurpers, the Rabbids, are involved is anybody's guess, but I hope very much that it's a platforming game in the same spirit as the original, pre-Rabbid Rayman franchise.

We'll have to sit tight. It seems we hear a lot about cool sounding games heading to DSiWare, but so far barely any of them have actually materialized.

!!!

If this is Rayman 1, it makes me wish I had a DSi.
Otherwise, I don't care.

Remember when the Rabbids were unique and fresh? Remember all those awesome promos around the Wii launch? Remember people saying "for a minigame collection, it's pretty funny"?

Three years down the line, I couldn't care less if I never saw another Rabbid ever again. More focus on Rayman, please.

The original Rayman was an awesome platformer. If this new one will indeed be similar to that, then you DSi owners are in for a treat.

Wait a minute...Rayman games used to star Rayman? This can't be right...I thought it was just a bunch of screaming rabbits. Next you're going to tell me it's a platformer, or something crazy like that.

Oh god yes. A Rayman platformer? If you look up "want" in the dictionary, there's a picture of this.

I don't have a DS, but the sheer possibility of the existence of a new Rayman platformer fills me with joy.

The only Rayman platformer I've ever played is Rayman Advance, so I'd love to play a new one after the Rabbids surfaced.

I can only hope that it's a brand new 2D platformer and not 1) a direct port of a previous game, and 2) like RRR on the DS.

Just for the web surfers out there who... do stuff...
It's a port of Rayman 1.
30% of the screen is A-GONE, making the game harder.
You have more HP than platforming could ever allow, making the game easier.

So it's balanced, but in an extreme way. Nevertheless, great game, really makes you wonder why there isn't a public outcry for another Rayman platformer. Oh, yeah, I remember. Eeeeeeeeeeverybody loves bunnies. ,¬¬

(As a side, DID YOU KNOW that I used to be friends with the bloke who dreamt up the rabbids in the first place? Mmhm, USED to be friends. My insider status is lost forever, but at least the Ubi-style Antichrist is far away from me.)
