RAWR! New Turok Xbox 360 screens

2:04 PM on 01.22.2007, Niero 36 comments

     PS3

You might remember Turok as an almost successful independent comic book of the 90's (which I have autographed somewhere in my closet) or a game that sold N64 systems alongside Goldeneye (before we all decided veloceraptors are lame). Its return to the console was announced back in May with a decent amount of hype for it's Unreal 3 engine adoption, but then we heard absolutely nothing else and forgot it was coming. These new high res images will serve a good reminder -- the game looks better than ever. It looks like Crysis with really shiny dinosaurs!

Here are more new Xbox 360 screenshots for you to savagely devour (or poop on). The game is scheduled for release sometime this year (it's 10th anniversary) and the game is also slated for the PS3. Are you excited about Turok's return?

Nice graphics...I remember being a Wii little tot and playing the first game. Scared the shit out of me too hhaha.

Heres to hoping it comes to Wii, and I finally get enough saved for a 360!

I thought the multi-player on Turok on the 'Cube was okay. However only a handful of friends agreed with me, thus making death matches few and far between.

I always thought of Prey as a game in the Turok universe, in an elaborate sense (and with native americans). They always were hell bent on getting aliens in with those dinos, which pissed me off. I mean come on, isn't shooting dinosaurs enough?

Thank God. At least it's back to dinosaurs again and not fucking dinosaur-people, dinosaur-aliens, regular-aliens, what-the-fuck-are-those, and chipmunks.

I dunno. It'll be nice to have an FPS on the 360 which doesn't involve space or a war.

Not to slam Turok cause I love me some Turok!!! But aren't these OLD "Screen shots"? I am pretty I saw all these renders at the beginning of summer at a EB Games in a magazine or something...

Plus, they screwed the whole series up with the story of this one...its like you are just some army guy crashed on a planet with your teammates and fight other bad games and the planet just HAPPENS to have dinosaurs on it. Thats what they were saying about the plot...

BlindsideDork : You are exactly right. I've seen all these screenshots (cept for the one with the t-rex eating dude.) and the plot is exactly (maybe it's different now, they could always switch it up) how you said it to be. Still, the mechanics offer some different gameplay.

I find it odd that protagonist who the game is named after isn't shown in any picture.

Can't say I'm too fussed for this one. The N64 ones were decent but the one from last gen was terrible.

The first Turok wowed me when it first came out. I used to shoot off the massive weapons into the air just to see the prettiness. Mind you, that game also introduced me to the joys of N64 fog like no other.

Turok 2 was good for the first few levels and then it lost it. The 4 player mode was cool though.

The rest can kiss my plums.

This looks sweet as a sweet potatoe pie, but it'll suck... you know it will.

Turok 1 and 2 were good. I still remember playing 4 player split screen and the guy next to me was just standing there, so I zoomed in all the way and got a head shot. It was hilarious especially since he could see me zooming in on him.

I guess its time to fight some raptors again, this looks like it could bring Turok back.

You haters.

1 The Dinoids are gay!

2, The old story was a n64 comic book story. Thats not what made turok good

3 TUROK IS A NATIVE AMERICAN! In fact he looks more like one this time. Not covered in a bunch of crazy head dresses. My friend is native american and he looks like that.

4. You will not command a squad. They will command you. So just view them as people who aren't your enemies. Who knows they may betray you.

5. what kind of FPS would not be set in a war?

6. the srory does not look like garbage. Charcters have a lot of growth.
