While we haven't had much to go on so far, we do know that a Rambo videogame is in the works at Reef Entertainment. Today, the company announced that the project will be playable on the show floor of gamescom later this August. Here's the obligatory teaser site.

"We have been quiet since we acquired the Rambo license last August," said Reef commercial director Craig Lewis. "During this time we have been dedicated to creating a videogame for consoles and PC that will allow Rambo fans and gamers across the globe to really get under the skin of Rambo and wield his iconic weapon-set in battle."

There's also some artwork that seemingly confirms bows, helicopters, and explosions in this game about John Rambo. Question is, will we be able to use the bow to make a helicopter explode? It's a mystery! I have an unshakable feeling that, good or bad, this game is ultimately going to be entertaining.

If I remember, SEGA had a very Ghost Squad esque Rambo arcade game. I assume this won't be like that.

To my memory, the last Rambo game I played was a light gun game about five months ago in my local bowling alley's arcade. That game was...pretty decent, as decent as a light gun game can be, I guess. The menu had really, really obnoxious and unfitting rap music, I think it was probably underground stuff, god knows. Case in point, it was a forgettable shooter that had a horrifyingly HUGE gun to pretend to kill things with.

I honestly don't think this game will be any different (minus the scary big piece of plastic) but hey, who knows? Might be a hit....eventhoughIdoubtit.

After watching Rambo in theaters a few years ago, I've always wished MGS3 were made for PS3 to eliminate the system limitations that caused the areas to be so instanced and narrow. Don't get me wrong, MGS3 is one of my all time favorite games (the pinnacle of the series, IMO), but there's just something missing from its limited scope.

If this game can actually provide a wilderness survival experience, and throw on some capable action mechanics, I will love this game forever.

If this is just an action game in forest make-up, no thanks.

I hope it's more like First Blood (stealth and psychological warfare while dealing with Rambo's psyche) and less like the later movies where he just blows stuff up. Don't get me wrong, I'll take either one since Rambo is awesome, but it would be a nice change of pace.

I'm sceptical that Reef will give this game a big enough budget for it to live up to everyone's expectations, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
