Rainy Woods (PS3/Xbox 360) is the rainiest and woodiest survival horror game yet photo

Famitsu has posted some information and screenshots of the upcoming PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 survival horror title, Rainy Woods. Developed by Access Games (Spy Fiction), Rainy Woods puts players in the role of a young FBI criminal investigator who is investigating a mysterious homicide in a quiet, American town.

The game features a morning/noon/night system that will not only change the town visually, but will also alter how the town's inhabitants interact with your character. The evening will also bring about mysterious apparitions that'll make you scream "Oh my God, what the f**k is that?", and if you're lucky, lots of rain. And as a growing FBI investigator, you're going to need to sleep, and pay close attention to your hunger level, as well -- you wouldn't want to starve or pass out in the middle of a murder investigation, right?

Screenshots can be found over at Famitu's Web Site, and we should have some more wet and woody information on Rainy Woods coming out of Tokyo Game Show.

What's up with weather effects in games? As if we're all waiting for the next breakthrough in rain graphics.

Ugh, see I'm actually very interested in this title but when I heard the name I felt sort of like firing up some Depeche Mode and breaking out the eye shadow. Not too thrilled about the name but I think it should be tight, all of those elements sort of add degrees of pressure and stress on the player.FEED MEEEE!!!

Adding the concept of eating and sleeping in a survival horror game definitely adds some dimension and possible twists and turns in the genre. What if someone snuck into your humble abode and stuck needles in your food? Do you get awakened in the dead of the night by strange sounds and lights? The possibilities are bedwettingly awesome!

Sounds interesting, but I can understand any kind of caution after many got burned by Vampire Rain, lets hope all that H2o doesn't got to the developers head (different developer I know). Access Games did create Spy Fiction which was luke warm in design and not as good as it could have been.

I'll be watching the weather on this one. Don't disappointment me, Access. This a good chance to shine again.

"Rainy Woods?"

Seriously?

Easily the stupidest title for a game ever. Not only is it an obviously shitty aping of Silent Hill, but "Rainy?" Jesus. Why not "Hurty Shotgun" or "Britney Spears?"

Are you sure this isn't actually an extreme-golf game?

I don't think it will be anything like silent hill.

Makes me think of games like Disaster Report and Raw Danger (which I just picked up), but with a more horror bent. I love those games, so sounds good to me.

@ Necros:

They already a title based off of The Thing, what more do you want?

We also had Cold Fear, which was less snowy, and more rainy. Also, SSX Blur is pretty scary.

Hey I remember Milli Vanilli. Yes, I'm that old.

They had a song called 'Blame It On The Rain'. They probably mimed that too.

(Wii sucks, buy more PS3s and put that in the lead then, Wii sucks, Lol)

I saw the trailer...thank you japan for ripping off twin peaks. Pretty much a dead giveaway with the dead girl found outside, FBI agent, and the twin midgets with the same dress as in the midget in the show.

Christ. Why didn't they just title it 'Twin Peaks ripoff'?
