Here's a trailer for Ragnarok DS. It looks pretty much like Ragnarok Online except if you wait a bit you get to learn about the exciting touch controls and Ragnarok Online exclusive item you get with the game. It pretty much looks like the original game except on a smaller screen, which should be good news for the massive install base the game already has.
For those unaware of what this whole Ragnarok thing, it's a massive MMO with millions of players and now XSEED is bringing it to the DS. Of course the MMOing won't be quite as possible, but you can join with two other people via the DS's wireless capabilities and rock out with your own adventure. Excuse my lack of enthusiasm here, but it's looking like if you aren't interested in the PC game the DS version won't be that much of a draw either.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
For years past,I've started this 7 years ago,and said screw it 5 years ago.
If it weren't for friends of a similar age coeercing me to play with them,I'd would've still love playing other games.
Now they're bringing this to the DS?I think I need to find a gun...........
BTW, thank you for the Linux-compatible flash vid ^____^.
I know I'm being a nitpicky bitch but it's too much fun to not point out. Plus I'm life threatingly bored.
Glory of Heracles
Sands of Destruction
Lunar (PSP)
Korg DS-10 Plus
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth
Infinite Space
Pokemon HG/SS
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey.
As a handheld gamer, I'm booked
Yeah,I expexted that.
I'd thought I'd see awesome valkyries and Norse gods beat the living bejeezus out of each other.Until all sorts of crap explanations flew out.
And don't get me started on Ragnarok:The Animation. That is a whole bloody ball game where I'd burn it in a hell hole faster than Jim can talk about his arsehole to Samit.
On PC it would literally be cities filled to the brim with real world players. Some have shops, some are selling help in the form of protection and tanking, people wanting others for quests etc. It was like a bustling world that was fun to be in. If it was nothing but NPCs there would be like 6 people in the whole town.
Maybe they've made new content for it to give it a single player campaign...
Anywho, try it out if you like 2D animation, anime and MMOs. You might like it.
Yeah, I don't get that. How hard could it be, eh?
