I'd RAGE too if I had to wait to install that. Just hearing that loud ass dvd-drive for an hour would drive me insane.
So what? LA Noire was 3 discs and nearly 20GB itself, if I remember correctly. How is it a fucking surprise that Rage is at or above that, and how is this news?
I now wonder how big the PC version will be, assuming it'll have higher resolution textures and so on

PC here too so I couldn't care less about how much HDD space it needs. (Imagine a console with 2TB of room! Next gen maybe?) Seems like both console versions will leave a lot to be desired when compared to the PC version, but if that is all you have then, hey, you should still enjoy it, matron.
Of course, as it stands right now it will come out the same day as Dark Souls so it looks like my computer will get a bit of a respite while my PS3 gets another dark and desolate taste of loneliness and despair. I can't wait!!

I guess this is the game thats gonna kill my PS3! She survived L.A. Noire, but this one or Skyrim are probably gonna be the nail in the coffin! poor girl, the things we've seen together.

total installs is exactly what you always have to do with PC games, wouldn't you like to just pop a game into your rig and have it work right away? Probably not because you'd have to be a weirdo to buy your games physically anymore, but still! It's a nice thought.

Looks like I will be skipping RAGE with my 20 GB hard drive, playing from the disc will probably cook my old xbox alive. That sucks that they couldn't even make the multi-player optional install.
@Perro - PS3 was mocked for mandatory installs. This isn't mandatory.

I was kind of pissed when I had to buy a 250gb hard drive to replace my old 15gb, but now it's kind of nice that I can install whatever I want and I don't have to worry about it.
I only install maybe 3/4 of the games that I play, but it's nice to have the option without worrying about space.

My PS3 has a 500 GB HD. So it's not much of an issue for me, how low do console hard drives get anyway? I guess the stuff adds up fast.
Dear id, Why are you the only company that can't make games work properly on the Xbox 360 & PS3? Everyone else seems to be able to do it. I thought Carmack was supposed to be some genius programmer wizard?

Great, my 360 hard drive is 20 gigs... I guess they are telling me to buy a new XBOX360 if I want to play their game.
from what we've heard from Carmack himself and all of the people who got to play latest version of Rage ps3 version sucks donkey balls because of the BD disc. while both PC and 360 versions look amazing with no screen tearing and texture pop-up, ps3 version have contant 1-2 seconds long pop-up and supposedly looks atrocious compared to other 2 versions - even if 360 is running game completely from the disc which is simply ridiculous if you think about it.
i really hope they won't pull Rockstar and delay game entirely just to fix broken ps3 version while both PC and 360 versions just sit there. Rockstar did this with GTA4 delaying already finished 360 version for nearly 7 months while fixing ps3 version that still was subpat compared to xbox edition.

PC Steam version will be at least 22GB. On my 2mbit connection, it will be much quicker to get it delivered, so I shall!
Xbox owner here, and I honestly have no issue with this. I have a 250 gig hard drive and ample space. Although I'm sure it's better on a PC, I'd much rather play the game on my 47 inch LED tv with surround sound, while sitting on my couch.

He says it suffers from screen tearing,texture pop-up,and looks atrocious,especially when running from Disc.

At least it's not like the PS3, where if you have a fatty, and 10 games that need large installs, you're SOL. I have to constantly delete my cache to house my PSN games.

I was going to get it for PC anyways. Rage is one of the many games that will justify my purchase of a GTX 570.
Still have over 100 gigs on my 250GB HDD. That's not a problem, I install most of my games just to keep that drive quiet.
