Ridiculous FishingRadical Fishing lives! Submitted to Apple for approval photo

Originally released as a Flash game, Radical Fishing is something I've been dying to get my hands on for years. The expanded iOS release from Vlambeer and other notable names from the independent games scene was beaten to market by a clone, all but killing the desire to finish the project. Thankfully, the team has since pulled together -- thanks in large part to fan support -- and submitted a build to the App Store.

Vlambeer has recounted the experience in a blog post, if you're curious. "No more talking about clones: Ridiculous Fishing is something we’re too proud of to be discussing its value in terms of another game. It’s time to focus on what we made: Ridiculous Fishing has been submitted. We’ll be back with more news as soon as Apple approves the game."

To think, work started on the iOS game way back in December 2010. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to listen to Eirik Suhrke's chill soundtrack on repeat.

Open world platformer/space shooter A.N.N.E is a retro buffet

Really, why even play clearly deficient retro games? I mean, where are the shmup segments in Metroid? Where are the open world segments in Contra? Where are the line segments in a bisected triangle? A.N.N.E. is one part platformer, one part shmup, one part RPG. And this year at PAX A.N.N.E. has all its systems in play. Maybe we'll all get to play it this year.more

Boy, The Hong Kong Massacre sure looks like Hotline Miami

Hotline Miami by way of Stranglehold or any other John Woo flick, at least. Which is appropriate for the setting. Though I'm also reminded of Michael Mann's Miami Vice movie for some reason. I guess it can't exactly be Hotli...more
