I tried this game last night. Thank you PS+. I'm loving it! I love the cheezy music/magic system... I found myself listening to the song right after picking them up! mmmm i like cheeeeezzzzz...
I keep thinking PS+ is a bad idea. I know it's not at this point! I just get caught up in purchasing other things.
Like... I just bought a new PS3 controller, God of War Saga and Journey: Collector's Edition. And later today or tomorrow I need to pre-purchase Borderlands 2 ;_;

Maybe if I was playing the game I'd feel differently but out of context this music is corny as hell.
The music in this game is beyond amazing. The game itself is a bit above good.
This version of Double Dragon could have been the definitive rebranding of the franchise, instead it's just a colorful, humorous extension of it. Although I'm enjoying the arcade brawler, it could have been much more. The omission of grapple moves is inexcusable. Nearly ruins the Double Dragon experience for me. Still, for a free title(with PS Plus) and priced at ten bucks, it's a steal worth playing through.
Also, the definitive remake title is the awesome Double Dragon Advance!

despite no grapple moves, this game rocks. Fans of old school beat em ups will like this game. Everyone else probably won't.
Bought it, played it, and beat it all last night. I agree, if you didn't grow up with old-school beat 'em ups, this won't be your bag. I, however, loved it. Skullmageddon cracked me the fuck up. "Nyeeeh!"
The music in this game is wonderful. I ended up donating $5 for it. "Neon Jungle" is worth it alone. So good.

Soundtrack is amazing, and I have to throw in my support for the game. I think they did enough with it to say it's a good game. Some grappling moves would have been nice, but it's not ruining the experience for me at all.
I thought the demo was okay if a little archaic. Seeing Wayforward listed under developer got me excited at the very least. I told myself I'd pick it up on sale for $5.
I'm liking the game, it's a lot better than the Bloodrayne game they made... but you absolutely can not take this game seriously at all! Think of it like Gremlins 2, it takes everything to extremes!
As for the gameplay itself, it might just be the best beat 'em up on Xbox Live (and PSN Store) although the Sega Collection Streets of Rage Trilogy and Final Fight Double Impact games are more of a bargain.
