I really wanna try this game. But fuck all if I buy a game I can't play in a couple of years because Ubisoft decided to shut down its servers 'cause it was a crapppy game that didn't sell well.
I'm not boycotting them. I will be purchasing BG&E2, assuming it ever finds itself on a release schedule, but the potential frustration in this horrible DRM software is killing it for me.
I'm not so against it as many others have been. I understand "fair use," and I understand this is a rather huge loop-hole in the legislation, but I'll be damned if I'll let corporate ideology get in my way. If I want to play a game enough, I'm going to play it, and if that includes an insidious DRM package, then so be it.
The thing that bothers me about it is the actual functional shut-down that would be the result of server issues. I have a solid connection, and a decent service provider, but that isn't to say I've never had problems with it.
It's a shame, too, because this game seems really very interesting. On top of that, I love me some World War II era gaming.
