It's been a while since the last video demonstration of R.U.S.E. went up, but I must confess, I'm still unable to stop my jaw from slowly dropping while watching the footage unfold.
This time around, we're shown -- and told about by the greatest narrator, ever -- the Deciphering Ruse, which allows players to see what their opponent's next moves are going to be in real time.
Even though there's a slim chance the novelty of the strategy game's zoom functionality and massive landscape will last much longer than thirty minutes or so when R.U.S.E. comes out, for now I will sit back in awe as I continue to watch these videos.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Dude this looks sick, it's about time the RTS genre got a bit of innovation. (aside from men of war which is awesome). I hope they have a wide selection of RUSEs, like fake inflatable tanks (actually used by US) and fake infantry drops.
Anybody remember the psychic sensor in Red Alert 2? It allowed the player to see where enemy units where moving to. So yea, same thing as this in Ruse.
How can this game 'continue' to impress when the original video was so poor to begin with - all pomp & show with no real thought too the gameplay, which seems rigid and fake.
The video kept me entertained but I agree in that it doesn't seem all that innovative or deep. So you learn ruses and use them like perks to gain an edge. It's only a matter of time before their usage will turn into a mechanical routine where you know what ruse to use when.
The graphics are pretty, but how the battle played out didn't set the gameplay apart from other titles.
