I won't let it die. Ever. I will offer sexual favours to the owners of the servers to ensure they never close. When I die and my body is committed to the ground I will leave EXPLICIT instructions to my children to ensure someone is playing at all times.
Though let's just forget the PS2 versions of either ever existed.

Agreed. Q3A played second fiddle to UT when only comparing the two games. After the original UT, there was an immediate and catastrophic drop in awesomeness.
Someone needs to bring back the original Quake. It's arguably the genesis of competitive multiplayer as we know it. Even over a decade later the weapon archetypes from Doom/Quake are largely the same in today's shooters.
Aimbot and resizing hitboxes allowed.
Quake3 is one of the few games that should stay on PC.
But wait... campaign???
In all seriousness, this looks like something I would play with among other friends seeing how Monday Night Combat's in the toilet.
To be honest, Quake 3 Arena isnt really representative of Quake 1 and 2. (Quake 1 being the best in the series)
UT was extremely fun to dick around with, with all those mutators and mods and so on. But when it comes to a thing as simple as a deathmatch, Q3 is pretty much unparalleled.
Still to this day.
quake on consoles ur doing it wrong

^^do it right
oh yes, I am one of those folks who still got it installed on his PC up 'till this day(together with the first Unreal Tournament and Counter-Strike:Condition Zero), it's so amazing that you can go online and see there are still hundreds of servers you can join in on those games.
Also, for the PC elitist, bunch of douche. This is a good opportunity to rekindle the once awesome Q3 to the mainstream. Let them, "see the light", that THIS is THE deathmatch at its greatest of core.
