Qore subscribers receiving SOCOM: Confrontation invites today photo

Three months ago we mentioned that one of the rewards to subscribing to Qore service early was entrance into the SOCOM: Confrontation beta. Despite the fact that the beta is currently experiencing some issues, the guys at Insomniac are ready to reward the Qore faithful today.

According to a posting on the SOCOM official page, the beta will be ready to download at 5:00 P.M. PST. If you're in, you should receive an e-mail with an invite at some earlier point today. Keep in mind that this beta offer only extends to the folks that annually subscribed to Qore as of Episode 01. Episode 02 just won’t cut it.

Personally, I’m not big of Sony using Qore as a platform to push betas and ads, but I have steadily come to realize that it serves a valid purpose by delivering content to people who otherwise may not have known it existed. Yet, I’m left to wonder how long and how many more exclusives are on the horizon.

What would make you sign up for Qore? If you disagree with the methodology, how would you improve it?

It's a shame I've had the beta for almost 2 weeks and I haven't even played a SINGLE game yet cause it's so unstable.

Correction first, I think SOCOM is from Slant Six and not from Insomniac. Also the email codes will be mailed out to all Qore subscribers. In other words, you can't download it from the episode one you bought. Which makes me begin to wonder what the purpose of that first episode was. Kinda pointless if you ask me.

Yes, sueng is correct, Brad. Insomniac is the developer of Resistance and Ratchet and Clank, among others.

Slant Six is the developer of Socom.

F**k 2008 for having such a stellar Holiday season lineup. As I like to bitch and complain everywhere on the website, I'm looking at the Socom: Confrontation bundle, Little Big Planet, Fallout 3, Rock Band 2, Sonic Chronicles, and Chrono Trigger.

I need a better job.

It's really fantastic how Qore doesn't let you know upfront that if you aren't an annual subscriber you don't get in the beta. Single episode users just get bent over. They've had months to let people know about this.
Fucking assholes.

I heard on the innernet that SOCOM was one of the worst beta's that quite a few people have ever played for bugs and issues......

Anyone want to give me their code so I see....:)

fucking assholes for letting all qore purchasers in?

@mix

its not too bad, its just this is the first "beta" of the year that is actually a beta and not a demo for publicity, so its expected for it to have some problems. some people just dont know the difference apparently. also mgo beta had many worse problems and didnt get nearly the amount of complaining.

I'm no fan of the ads( in fact I've made a personal oath never to eat the BK Chicken), but the fact remains that so far all of the 'exclusive' content you receive from purchasing Qore can be accessed through other means( except possibly the themes). Sometimes its just a matter of time, or, in the Socom Beta's case, preordering the game. So it comes down to whether this 'exclusivity' is worth it to you. I personally find Qore fairly entertaining. The interviews are generally well done, and informative, and more of Ms. Belmont can't be a bad thing.

That doesn't sound like ALL to me. So yeah, fuck them.
