Q-Games reveals trippy PixelJunk Eden for PSN

During a session at yesterday's Independent Games Summit in San Francisco, Q-Games' Dylan Cuthbert has revealed the next installment of their PlayStation Network PixelJunk series. Called PixelJunk Eden, not much is known about the game outside of what you see in the above trailer.

The game appears to be a highly stylized pollination simulator of sort, which relies heavily on physics as a major component of the gameplay. Cuthbert says the game is "like an organic Mario, in a way." And that right there clears absolutely nothing up, but that doesn't mean I'm not intrigued.

Cuthbert also revealed sketches for the fourth PixelJunk game, a top-down dungeon crawler called PixelJunk Dungeon. I'm going to do my best to corner Cuthbert at GDC this week, and possibly get him to slip some more info on both titles.

Looks pretty enough but the actual game play appears to be slightly mundane.

Not sure what just happened there, but I think I like it. Strange how they put their company name in all their titles.

OK , this is as good as downloaded.

i have to say i love how Pixel Junk is trying to deliver something else. Pixeljunk racers was nothing amazing , i got it for novelty value, Pixeljunk monsters on the other hand is something phenominal in its simplicity (ok so it can be compared to a certain mod for a certain game) but beutiful presentation.
They are also responsible for the great new visuallizer with the sun and the earth, and THAT is just fresh.

Now this... i mean i love that its just "photoshop" style art coming to life....

well, not for everyone, but def for me...... cant wait!

The swinging mechanic reminds me of the ninja rope from the Worms games. Intriguing...

meh, it looks like it's trying to be deep, like flow, and flow sucks. I'm still waiting for these guys to come up with a good and original idea.
