Since Sony announced last week that the arcade classic Q-bert was coming out this week for the PlayStation 3's PlayStation Network ($4.99), some of you may have forgotton how f'ing hard this game was. I hardly ever played the damn thing because I could never really get that far -- and I was a cheap bastard of a kid, so plunking down quarter after quarter wasn't an option.
Thankfully, the guys over at ScrewAttack have this video to show us the pain that we've been missing out on all these years. If you're thinking about downloading one of the hardest games ever made, then watch this video before you do.
Ever play an arcade game that was harder than Q-bert?
I had this for the Atari 5200. Loved it, but is it worth paying money for now? Jury is out...
And yeah, I can think of only 1 arcade game harder, but completely different genre...it was a cheating piece of crap that I spent every quarter I could muster...I give you...
This bastard was like a cheap version of Dragon's Lair without the cool factor. You'd stick $.50 (quarter-rape at the time!) in and you'd get to watch your character die repeatedly as NOTHING told you what you're supposed to do in the game at all.
And better still, the game was all live action video blue-screened with shitty animation and bad acting.
Hahaha! Time Traveler SUCKED! And was Q-bert hard? I never noticed. The controls were tricky at first.
Did anyone ever even figure out how to start this game?
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
