Puzzle Quest: Galactrix hits Xbox LIVE Arcade on April 8 photo

D3 Publisher has just confirmed with us that Puzzle Quest: Galactrix will be landing on Xbox LIVE Arcade next Wednesday, April 8. The title will support online multiplayer, matchmaking, leaderboards, voice chat, and all of that other stuff you'd expect from an Xbox LIVE Arcade game.

It's actually surprising to me that the title wasn't already available for XBLA. The game hit Nintendo DS and PC weeks ago to much fanfare, a lot of which died down after some people had played the game. It'll be interesting to see how that impacts the sales of the XBLA version. The game is also slated to hit PlayStation Network, but hasn't confirmed a release date.

Speaking of confirmation of things, we also don't know how much Galactrix is going to run you; we've contacted D3 for clarification. It should be noted that the PC version of the game retails for $19.99, so 1600 MS Points sounds like a good bet.

You still excited about Galactrix, or are you over it at this point? Have you already picked up the PC and Nintendo DS versions?

[Update: D3 has confirmed with us that the XBLA version of Galactrix will cost 1600 MS Points, as expected.]

Aww. I don't see how you could possibly relate this to backdoor shenanigans. There goes the hat trick.

I never got into Puzzle Quest. The system is just too random for me to really enjoy the puzzle mechanics.

1200 would be hard enough to consider spending on a digital download for me : /

Am I the only one who thinks that Galactrix is better than its predecessor in every possible way?

800 or no deal for me...despite how much I love the original. For me, unless it's substantial content akin to Shivering Isles, I'm not parting with my space bucks!

Make a stand now people or you're gonna be seeing ONLY 1200 games and up for Arcade titles in the future

@ otogi guy

I know, i read the blog. All that he said in his blow was, Wait a minute, this game is not all about dueling, dismissed. Pretty lame if you ask me. I think that the mlti-directional board is phenomenal.

Woo.

I think we all know my opinion on Puzzle Quest by now, however they are amplified by yet another week without OutRun.

I played a good ten hours of Galactrix thinking it has to be great at some point, that was it though. I haven't gone back since. Every single element of the game is tedious and unrewarding. *sigh*

Okay I actually created an account to rag about this piece of crap.

I am so glad I played the original PQ before trying this frustrating trash. There are SO many issues that never should have made it out of QA, mostly relating to 'leapgate hacking', aka Vegas-odds slots. WHO THE HELL thought that a whole game based on leapgate hacking was fun?

Watching combos you dont want chew up your countdown time has to be the most blatant sin, there's nothing more frustrating then failing a hack when you've completed the damn thing, but all the combos afterwords cause the timer to hit 0 and fail you. This is the first game i've played that actually had me scream out loud in frustration. And that's not fun.

I'd save your MS points for something, ANYTHING else. I hear SOTN was released on XBLA, go download a GOOD game!

Mmm, I got my DS version and I still haven't finished it. I probably won't pick this up until it drops in price. In the mean time, maybe I'll grab the original.
