Finally, here's yet another reason to own a Playstation 3.
SquareEnix is giving Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children a shiny new coat of paint for its Blu-ray debut in 2008. There's no exact date for the release, but let's hope for an early spring release. There's also no word if there will be extra content for the new release, but I think Cloud in high definition is enough for me to buy a Blu-ray player.
Ummm ... SquareEnix, this Blu-ray version of the movie is nice and all, but where's our sequel game for Final Fantasy VII? Impress me with that next, please.
This was announced aaages ago. Like, shortly after the US DVD release of Advent Children. It's actually called Advent Children complete, where they insert some deleted scenes or something, like that one shot there with Sephiroth impaling Cloud with the Masamune. There's no talk of whether the extra scene are plentiful or just an added shot here and there, like the impaling bit.
But yeah, the story isn't so good. I preferred Spirits Within, personally. It sure does look pretty, though.
I have both versions, not counting the Blu-ray. I forget if Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children (Limited Edition Collector's Set) had the deleted scenes...:/....X-mas present
Yeah, this is the one where their clothes are going to get dirty or something.
I watched Advent Children with lie subs at MAGFest, i'd never seen the real movie before. It was amazing. Pretty much every line Vincent said was subbed with "DIRGE OF CERBERUS." Cloud and Sephiroth were enemies because one liked to knit and the other liked to crochet.
I already brought it 2 times, so I don't need a third copy of it. About the only way you could make me buy it again is if Tifa had a deleted sex scene on the Blu-Ray
....and squeenix continues to milk an overrated game. sad. Maybe they can do something about lowering those silly ass ebay/amazon prices of FFVII? Then maybe i'll look at this when I think about getting my PS3.
yea, this is old news. it's to add in gradually dirt physics to the movie. so their clothing dos't look clean as when they where just washed though out the movie.
guys, if you wanna watch the film, jus buy the friggin dvd, so many people talin bout watchin it online in shitty quality, here in blighty its damn easy to get hold of, fuck ebay, jus search in local dvd stores if in the US,oh yeah story was pretty lame, but the action was incredible, like batshit crazy incredible
So were you kidding about this movie being another reason to own a PS3? Was the comment intended to be some sort of sly commentary about obsessed FF fans or something, and how they'd find it completely justifiable to shell out the cash for a PS3 just to watch a high-res version of a third-rate FF VII tie-in movie?
Seriously, that would be the only context in which that statement makes any sense to me.

Advent Children? I DISAGREE!

Blu-ray will make it look even better, but I have no plans to watch it a second time even on dvd. Ever.
It looked PRETTY! But I don't know what the hell happened. BUT IT PURTY!!
