I felt bad for all the DS games at E3 2010, especially Okamiden. How could any DS title possibly follow the unveiling of the 3DS? It just wasn't fair.
I hope that Okami fans (all 200,000 or so of you) are still willing to buy Okamiden, despite its release on "old" hardware. Capcom really deserves to be rewarded for crafting such a fresh-yet-loyal semi-sequel. I still think that Chibiterasu is one of the most ingenious redesigns that a videogame character has ever received. Beyond that, everything about this game looks like pure Okami. That deserves some kudos, and some cash.
I also heard that Capcom's planning to add some anti-piracy code to the game that gives any DS that plays it off of an R4 diarrhea for the rest of its natural life. Yep, pirate Okamiden, and your DS is going to poop all over you.
Kudos for that too.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
The game looks really, really good though!
Almost anything can be cracked.
Add J-Pop
(Excepting Bayonetta for some reason. I don't know what voodoo they pulled to make the game worth playing despite the J-Pop.)
@ GohanGVO - Serious? The 3DS will definitely be out either by or around that time. Hey Capcom: when this doesn't sell, pleeeaaaseeee don't blame it on the franchise?
It would take a real douche to pirate an Okami game regardless. Of course, pirates are the same type who download indie games like Machinarium and packages where you can pay anything (Humble Indie Bundle) without any DRM and still somehow bitch that they're actually crusaders of justice or somesuch.
The game comes out in Japan on September 30th, but it's not coming out elsewhere until next year.
The quirky games always tend to take some time to appear.
Totally psyched for this game.
That doesn't even make logical sense.
Oh wait. I forgot who I was talking to.
See what your trailers do to me? Oh yeah, and has anyone heard yet about the box thing Capcom Japan was marketing with Okamiden's Japanese release? WANT. SO BAD. Capcom America would be making a giant mistake if they didn't sell that with the American release, because I'm positive I'd buy it if it was under 60 USD or somewhere around there. I only have so much money... Oh, who am I kidding, I'd buy it even if it was "599 US Dollars". (For those who don't know, see http://www.capcom-unity.com/jgonzo/blog/2010/07/15/capcom_japans_okamiden_collectors_edition_is_deluxe )
I'm gonna buy it...but still.
