Any speculation is now over -- Nintendo's Punch-Out!! revival for the Wii is coming to stores on May 18. Also, here's some sweet ass box art to keep you entertained until then.
Along with that announcement, Nintendo has also revealed a new game in the Excitebike and Excite Truck franchise, Excitebots: Trick Racing. Coming April 20, the only info we have so far as that it uses the Wi Wheel, includes fun mini-games, and you can perform crazy tricks.

Other than Punch Out!!, not many titles there that seem interesting to me. Though, I am getting an entertaining image of Chad laughing hysterically at some of those names.
Jelly Belly Ballistic Beans? Smiley World Island Challenge? Those are hysteric fits just waiting to happen.
Also, THQ got the Desktop TD license eh? I'm guessing the guy who made the flash game was happy with the paycheck.

Sadly, this is one game that will suffer dearly if they over-use the waggle. If I have to move my whole arm to throw a punch then it's unlikely I'll ever be playing this.

I really do hope Punch-Out is coming out in May. However, I'm a bit puzzled by Nintendo. We've only seen a single teaser video of the game back at the 2008 Fall Media Summit and with Punch-Out coming in May, then Nintendo won't be showing it off at E3, at least durnig its actual presentation. I suppose Nintendo may do more to promote and reveal more details about Punch-Out and perhaps this new Excitebot title as well in late March during the GDC event.
2009 is off to a nice start.
Wake me up when that sequel to Sin & Punishment is announced.
