PSPgo ships with built-in ESRB ratings photo

The PSPgo might be seen by some as a rather useless, unnecessary, expensive little addition to the PlayStation Portable family, but there's no denying it has some rather neat little features, even if those features aren't entirely must-have items. One of those neat features is the recently revealed in-built ESRB ratings, allowing parents access to rating information wherever they go.

Parents who aren't stupid should know the ESRB ratings anyway, but parents who are only slightly stupid will now be able to check for appropriate games on their child's PSPgo. Of course, parents who are just completely moronic won't know, or care, that this app is on the machine, and will just allow kids to download violent content before pretending that the videogame industry isn't doing enough to protect their children.

So yeah, this probably won't find its way into the hands of those that need it, but it's still a cool little feature.

As long as they have those cool ESRB paragraphs detailing the bad stuff in the game in a hilarious manner.

Sometimes I think the only way to stop people complaining is to slap a big "18+ ONLY BECAUSE OF FUCKING SWEARING AND GORE! DON'T BUY IT FOR YOUR LITTLE SHITS!" over the boxart so no one will have the stupidity to buy an 18+ game and wonder why their precious child is watching brutal dismemberment instead of jumping on rainbows.

Sounds like the console parental controls. A great idea and completely functional, assuming it's the parent setting up the game system and not the kid, which is a poor assumption to make.

I support anything that allows/helps parents to take responsibility for their spawn.

For every one parent that this would help, this will fly over the heads about 20 more who think that games need a second warning label on them. However, it might be more of a problem with the parents over blowing the issue thinking that any teenager who plays GTA will be ruined for life.
