In what could quite possibly be called the worst timing ever, XSEED's latest localization effort is making its way to the PlayStation Network later today. Corpse Party, a horror adventure title, follows a group of teenage students as they explore a haunted, otherworldly school in an attempt to escape from the hellish prison with their sanity, much less their very lives.
As a fan of both survival horror and everything Japanese, the juxtaposition of the cutesy anime stills and 2D sprites with the violent and horrific subject matter is something that really caught my eye. Even as someone who's been following this title closely, it's difficult to imagine this $19.99 downloadable PSP title will generate much interest in the face of such high profile competition. Still, one can always hope.
After seeing the original trailer a few months ago I've been super interested in this title. Hopefully I'll get to pick it up around the holidays and get SUPER CREEPED OUT
Tom Lipschultz of Xseed Games on the game getting discounted
"No PSN+ discount is planned at the moment, I’m afraid. It’s something to keep in mind for future titles, but for this game, I don’t think we could’ve afforded to offer it for any lower a price. ;)"
Competition?
From what? From the yearly western releases only mainstream gamers care about, from Skyrim only fantasy nerds care about or from batman only comic nerds care about?
The closest competition would probably be Zelda SS, but that not a horror game, it's just also adventurish and from Japan.

While there might not be a lot of niche or decent PSP games dropping lately, this game doesn't exist in a microcosm. While I'm sure it has a following that will buy it regardless, people who have wide interests and are interested might put the purchase off or forget because of the sheer volume of quality games dropping lately.
Had the game launched in a more quiet window where people were actively looking for something, anything, to play it's reasonable to believe it would've received a lot more buzz.
Just beat the first chapter and all I can say is wow this is awesome my heart was pounding some of the voices sound like their wispering in your ear too. Defo recommend earphones.

Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I've looked at New PSP games section, A-D PSP games section, view all by title, & PSN exclusives and I can't find it.
They have hair dye in Japan too.

The same way how so many blonde girl / women exist, I guess.
