PSOne Classics on Vita listed (it's already gone stupid)

Although Sony promised over a hundred PSOne Classics would be available with the PS Vita's next firmware update, the truth is not quite so tantalizing. In North America, it turns out that only nine PSOne games will be purchasable online for your handheld tomorrow.

In Europe, players will get fifty, because regional weirdness is the "in" thing this season.

These games will be available to download directly from the PlayStation Store. If you have a PS3, you'll be able to transfer over more than the listed games, though neither NA option yet includes Alundra and Tomba! -- two games I was personally looking forward to.

It's just a wonderful storm of inconsistency, so it's classic Sony all over. As usual, something that should be simple is now alienating and ridiculous. Ah well ... should've expected it.

Check out the wild and wacky lists below to find out where to get which games. The list will update as things change. The transfer list is by no means final.

North American PSOne Classics available for download

  • Cool Boarders 2
  • FINAL FANTASY VII
