'Course, in the larger scheme of things, I couldn't care less. MHFU is eating up all my Vita time as late, and it's a trend that seems determined to continue.
So does everyone who owns a ps3 and/or ps2..
Also, while its a welcome addition, I can't see playing a whole lot of ps1 games on my vita... hopefully, we get ps2 games eventually on vita... but that would probably be too much to ask for..

Jesus.
Next, we need Remote Play even if it's wifi limited.
Stealth - I have a gaming PC, so if they ever released a means of playing its games in the palm of my hand anywhere, that wouldn't affect me.
...wait, that's a retarded statement, because my PC isn't handheld. You can brag about your dad's or older brother's console collection all you want, but it doesn't make your retarded, dismissive statements look any less retarded.
1) If they simply ported the PS1 emulator from PSP or PS3, it would open up a fucking mountain of security vulnerabilities. I'd rather not have the pirates fucking ruining the Sony handheld like they did the last one. Once the floodgates opened, publishers left the system for dead.
2) All of these games need be retested in the new emulator one by one in order to make sure they work completely. If they didn't, you'd have a post up next week bitching about it. You can't have it both ways. On top of that, all of this stuff has to be re-licensed.
tl;dr quit your bitching.
1)How exactly do you figure that??? Was it the ps1 emulator that allowed hackers to hack the psn and the psp???? Don't think so, but thanks for trying.
2)well then they shouldn't have announced this as a launch feature before the system was functional. QA on a bunch of emulated games can't take particularly long once you have the basics of the emulator working correctly. and while the games might need to be re licensed for use on the vita, sony already has active licensing agreements with all these companies due to their games currently being sold on the psn. It doesn't take the better part of a year to update your licensing agreements to include vita functionality.
I don't think most would care that much, accept for the fact that sony promised PS1 classics as a launch feature for the vita. Yet here we are almost 9 months out since the systems japanese release, and we still don't even have a date, let alone any idea how these will be distributed. The burden is on sony for promising features they couldn't live up to, especially in this extremely crucial launch window. There are very few exclusive quality vita games, so being able to play a library of ones already purchased ps1 games would go a long way to getting consumers interested. As it is though, sony is once again selling their system on 'future potential', and bald faced lies.
tl;dr your bitching about people bitching.....
This.
or maybe Bowling. Just "Bowling". Nothing else to the title.
Or maybe even 2Xtreme! I NEED TO BE XTREME!!!
1) Do yourself a favor and read up on something before you make comments about it. The PSP emulator on the Vita that allows it to play digital PSP games WAS ALREADY hacked and used to run unauthenticated code within the PSP emulator on the Vita. The LAST thing that Sony needs is publishers dropping support for the Vita due to piracy just like they did for the PSP.
If they simply ported over a PS1 emulator that just ran on PSP code the can of worms could be opened yet again. Clearly Sony is trying to avoid that. They JUST went through it with the PS3 and all that Geohot bullshit. Keep up.
2) Was it on the box you bought? Was it in the advertising you saw? No? Then tough shit. That happens all the time with gaming, or with anything for that matter. Companies plan to have a feature, it gets dropped for whatever reason. Too fucking bad. You can keep crying about it or you can accept the reality of the situation. You weren't promised shit when you BOUGHT the system.
Again, if all the games don't work people bitch about it. If the system gets hacked, the publishers bitch about it, and they drop support of the system if it opens the doors to piracy. If the emulator is crap, people bitch about it. Do it right or don't do it. Real simple.
So what, you'd rather have Sony's number one priority be getting 15 year old games you bought for $6 running on its brand new portable system instead of making new fucking games for that brand new portable system? Get a grip.
Thanks for trying. You can leave now.
