Anyway, Pixeljunk Sidescroller is a great game and the sale is a fantastic opportunity to get it.
At least Microsoft does the same discount for gold and non-gold members around Christmas.
At least PSN users don't have to pay $60(40 if you're smart) a year just to be able to play online games with your friends. Plus, 30% off is STILL a pretty great discount.
Btw, you should have mentioned Steam instead. They have BETTER discounts than both PSN and Xbox Live, and that's a fact! (And by that, I'm going from the comments of almost everyone here at DTOID.
But Steam had dungeon defenders for about 3 bucks.
So yeah steam sales are a fuckton better
Dungeon Defenders is awesome. The console versions are behind in terms of the patches, DLC, etc. but even the base game is worth the regular price (I logged 70 hours on it). It also has LOCAL CO-OP (split-screen 4 player), which has become a rarity these days.
Also, XBL sales only apply to gold subscribers. Silvers don't get any discount. Steam wins again!
IN THPS HD YOU CAN PLAY AS ME, ERIC FUCKING SPARROW
FUCK ALL OF THESE GAMES, SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR SOMETHING USEFUL
EXERCISE, BITCHES AND ERIC FUCKING SPARROW
Not such a big deal to me now.
Dunno what you're doing SayWord - maybe you just don't buy games from there.
Got SFIII for the "Plus" (%50 off0 price at the christmas/ny sales, got "orcs must die" for half price last week, and Burnout Crash for %50 off the week before. In addition to the other weekly specials I've bought over the years. They have specials every week you know!
If live costs me around $6AUD a month - I save around that everytime I get 400 points off a game.
You're a fucking troll chieftan of the highest order SW.
Is Xbox Live Rewards advertised (if they don't, they should. It sounds more beneficial to Live members than that MOTHERF*CKING FOX NEWS!!!!!) on the dashboard? PS+ has it's own section in the PS Store, is mentioned in the messages on the top right of the XMB screen, and you and your friends who are PS+ members get a "+" on top of their avatars, so PS+ gets more exposure. Maybe this is why SayWord said that he gets nothing from Xbox Live, because you have no idea what Rewards is unless you constantly check your Email, much like how I didn't know about Club Nintendo until early last year when I got an email from Club Nintendo... Even then, 1st-party X360 games don't even have codes. I got Gears 3 new, and there was no code inside.
I have seen XBL rewards promos on the dash many times (they cycle) - ditto the weekly specials.
And while Xbox tells you how long a user has been a member of XBL, I'd kinda figure the free silver membership/gold trial with every new 360 sold does a pretty good job of making people aware of it. Maybe even more than a + on top of your avatar. Maybe, I dunno I'm not an expert.
I'd love to buy Payday:The Heist, as I loved the demo, but I just don't have the money. In fact, I can't even get PJS, the cheapest, because I have $0.00 in my account right now because of my PS+ renewal on December 31st.
Also, PSN+ makes my life better. Every month I download a whole load of free stuff, every sale i get extra discount, every big 1st party title I get into a beta, my PS3 automatically updates it's self and any games I've played recently and uploads my save data and trophies while I sleep.
I pay the same for PSN+ and XBL and I rarely find anything i even want to download on XBL, let alone anything worth actually paying for. In comparison, if i buy something from PSN for say £5, I'll add £15 to my wallet just so i can get some other bits i was on the fence about.
It pains me to buy those stupid MS points, so it's got to be something REALLY worth it, makes everything feel more expensive and actually work out more expensive forcing me to put more points onto the system where there's nothing I want to spend them on.
I use the consoles how they were meant to be used. PSN for buying interesting and cool games, playing a wide variety of stuff.
XBL for playing Battlefield 3, or any other shotters that my Xbox only buddies buy.
Steam for buying a fucktonne of games I'll never play. Steam wins everytime when it comes to sales though, no contest.
Nah. There are special promotions where you can get rewards for free (ie signing up for Netflix's free trial, etc).
"I pay the same for PSN+ and XBL and I rarely find anything i even want to download on XBL,"
That's funny, I feel the opposite.
With PS+, all I feel I mostly get are PsOne games that I've already paid for (or played when I was in Middle/High School), and $2 minis; 90% of the time which are terrible.
Count on it.
