PSN Summer Blast sale features scorching deals

The deals are considered hot because they save you lots of money

Microsoft may have just made 4-year old Defense Grid free for Xbox 360 owners, but Sony is doing its best to keep up. Coincidentally, it's time for Sony's annual summer sale, during which you can expect up to 60% off select titles; PlayStation Plus members can expect up to 80% off.

The sale is separated into two week batches. The first batch of deals can be downloaded tomorrow after the PSN's regularly scheduled Tuesday updates. The second batch comes next week. Peep the full list after the break.

Seriously though, some of these prices are so crazy I'm not sure there isn't a fox named Redd working at Sony. $5 for Batman: Arkham Asylum? $5 for Shadow of the Colossus? About $8 for the Prince of Persia and Ratchet and Clank HD trilogies, respectively? Good stuff. What are you eyeing?

Realized I've turned on my PS3 in the past month or two only to watch Mario cartoon DVDs. I really need to get around to playing something - anything - on it.

Listening to Studio Ghibli Collection at work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_WbO_LPXDo Reminds me that my dad really liked Howl's Moving Castle. He's retired military and serious most of the time but rather enjoyed its fanciful world.

MGS V review: When using a character other than Big Boss for missions, the intro credits still say, "starring Punished 'Venom' Snake." Sloppy work, Kojima - no wonder Konami dumped you. 0/10.
