What Octomon said, I do not own a PS3 but Damn I feel really bad about the good, honest and respectable Ps3 players out there who like some multiplayer gaming experience. It would suck if this happened on Live or Steam (my main platform) so I'm really hoping this to ends soon, cause as Jim said, at the end this is not affecting Sony, it's affecting his costumers and the entire gsming industry.

I'm fine with it being down if they are actually fixing things. I have steam and SSF4 3ds keeping me busy. That and actual life and work stuff. Shit life but it gets me out of thr house.

On the upside, anyone who bought a PS3 in the past few weeks won't miss the PSN because, for them, it was never there. If Sony and 3rd Party developers just play to that crowd and those who only wanted single player game experiences anyway, they can take all of the time they want to get their online network up and running again, or for those folks, unveil their new online network for the first time.

It just pisses me off that I can't even access my downloaded copy of Warhawk without being connected to PSN. I mean there's still splitscreen and LAN that I should be able to play T__T
There is no excuse for building such a poor network. I'm not "Go hackers!" But I don't think that means we have to feel bad for Sony either.
@Celica... yeah, I guess the downloaded version has that gamesharing restriction of only one PSN user every 24 hours (so 5 people didn't share a single copy of the game), and I guess the internet connection and PSN user is needed to track that. :(

they dropped the load n'swap during a PSN update... apparently it was a security hole or something. The Local player splitscreen still works without PSN though if you have a disc copy (though they're pretty hard to find nowadays).
The DelayStation 3 still lives up to its name! HAHAHAHA

I havnt touched my xbox once during this whole ordeal:) the ps3 just has way to many good single player games. It would suck if xbox live goes down again like it did for 2 weeks in 2008. Unless you don't count fable you got those short single player games in gow and halo:p

I honestly haven't been missing my PS3 being online all that much. It sucks to know that I have a paper weight sitting under my TV right now.. and hopefully it's up in time for LA Noire (so I can grab whatever DLC there is/patches, etc).. but otherwise I hope Sony takes their time and fixes their issues once and for all.

Not surprised. With the talk of a third attack that was being planned I wasn't expecting it to be back on and of course like most comments i see. People just read the headline and go "RABBLE RABBLE Fuck Sony RABBLE RABBLE"
If Sony wants me to get pissed at the American government for deciding to pretend like it cares about the PSN issue and the cards stolen, they've kind of managed to. Kind of because at this point, I'm terribly apathetic about this bullshit. Allow me to log in. That's ALL I ask. Sorry, Sony Defense Force. The "Xbox was down for a week." argument is way invalid in comparison to this. This whole situation has turned from "Haha Sony" to "Fucking A". I don't even own a PS3 and now I'm upset that about the downtime.
The worst thing about this is that once PSN finally does come back up, the hackers are sure to bombard the shit out of it. It'll go down again that same day, I bet.
Also, don't hold a press conference and get your consumer's hopes up when, in reality, you don't even know the extent of the attacks. It makes you look even worse.

I've gone and re-subbed to XBL. Not because I hate PSN, but because I can't go another few weeks without online play. It sucks when you rent a game and can't play it online. When PSN in up, I will be happy to start getting PS3 games from Gamefly and not playing $10 a month to play them.
I've been a fan and owner of all the Sony consoles except PS3, solely due to money and time constraints. This level of incompetence is seriously making me doubt I'll buy another Sony console ever again. Which is a shame because I wanted an NGP.
