Hot on the heels of the news of an incoming Command & Conquer 4 beta comes... the Command & Conquer 4 beta!
As expected, Electronic Arts has partnered with Gamespot for the program -- anyone who signs up for a free Gamespot account will gain access to the beta. The program launched today at noon Eastern, so you should be able to sign up and start downloading as you read this.
Speaking of which, I think I'm going to go do that now...

Here's a hint for you EA. Don't fuck with established franchises with complete changes of what they are. You make new games for that sort of crap. Now you've alienated the long time C&C players by changing what a C&C game is, and new players by putting all this in a game that is the end of very long story.
Can't we get an Act of War 2 please?

I might play this when it is down to bargain bin prices but unlike most, I don't blame EA for the demise of C&C. Westwood took a big trip downhill with Tiberian Sun and then Renegade (which I still found OK). I thought RA2 and the Generals games were great but then they were both made after Westwood basically was EA.
am i missing something?
