The first piece of Assassin's Creed II DLC "Sequence 12: Battle of Forli" won't have Achievements or Trophies associated with it. A spokesman for Ubisoft Montreal confirmed the lack of Trophies last afternoon with Web site PS3 Trophies, and I can personally confirm that the Xbox 360 version of the content doesn't pack Achievements with it either. Kind of a bummer, too. I sorta wanted a "Rollin' with Machiavelli" bubble to pop up after the first Memory.
Of course, why there aren't rewards associated with the content is something Ubisoft hasn't addressed yet.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Also 4.5 cocks
As much as I'd enjoy another long boring lesson on DLC, its development and release. I'm going to save my breath and say STFU.
Just because they had planned DLC right from the beginning doesn't mean it should be brought out at release. If you read up on it you'll actually find the DLC doesn't add much to the story over all but instead invites you to experience a little extra.
It got a 4.5 here, it got lots of good review scores other places. At the end of the day, they are numbers that mean nothing.
IF companys start charging for content that got RIPPED from the game (not added, like an ADD ON should be) they could at least be more subtle about it rather than this garbage that's happening lately (though this is common for developers to do now a days)
No sir, I will not STFUAJPGs.
This isn't a game add on it's probably on the disc
/English nazi
Yes it does. You're a nazi only in the sense that your ideas of right and wrong appear warped...
In this instance is the butt ugly modern usage of the term for raises the question.
Dumb ass modern usage is also to blame for the current ambiguity of the meaning of art. This is why we can't have nice things, but can have ridiculous circle arguments as to whether games are art.
Flying Machine whenever you want is a welcome bonus. Maybe not one worth money, but a bonus.
Also,

Amen.
I say thank you Ubisoft
You say that like it hurts the experience. I don't play online but I'd imagine Achievements for online games would encourage cheaters and hurt the experience.
It is also pretty laughable and somewhat pathetic that I will purchase the second pack of DLC for this game just to avoid having to play through the entire thing again to pick up a missed flying machine achievement that is impossible to get after completing that mission.
A playable state? If the environment, characters, game code and all that stuff is ALREADY on the disk! What is missing? A dialogue video done with the game engine itself? Does it take sooo much time to create it? Believe what you want to believe, my position is that we're talking about Greed, not time limits. It's Ubisoft stance nowadays. It happened with Prince of Persia (you had to pay extra DLC for the REAL end of the story) and now with AC2. Just wait for Splinter Cell Conviction, it's gonna be funny...
