PSA: ACII 'Battle of Forli' DLC won't have Achievements photo

The first piece of Assassin's Creed II DLC "Sequence 12: Battle of Forli" won't have Achievements or Trophies associated with it. A spokesman for Ubisoft Montreal confirmed the lack of Trophies last afternoon with Web site PS3 Trophies, and I can personally confirm that the Xbox 360 version of the content doesn't pack Achievements with it either. Kind of a bummer, too. I sorta wanted a "Rollin' with Machiavelli" bubble to pop up after the first Memory.

Of course, why there aren't rewards associated with the content is something Ubisoft hasn't addressed yet.

Because they shouldve included this crap DLC with the game instead of taking it out.

Also 4.5 cocks

As much as I'd enjoy another long boring lesson on DLC, its development and release. I'm going to save my breath and say STFU.

Just because they had planned DLC right from the beginning doesn't mean it should be brought out at release. If you read up on it you'll actually find the DLC doesn't add much to the story over all but instead invites you to experience a little extra.

It got a 4.5 here, it got lots of good review scores other places. At the end of the day, they are numbers that mean nothing.

That's fucking dumb, you don't release a book with chapters 1 through 14 and tell you fans to buy chapter 12 seperately in a bookstore.

IF companys start charging for content that got RIPPED from the game (not added, like an ADD ON should be) they could at least be more subtle about it rather than this garbage that's happening lately (though this is common for developers to do now a days)

No sir, I will not STFUAJPGs.

After reading Brad's review, I'll probably pick this up. I enjoyed AC2 a lot, and at 4 bucks the price seems about right.

I'd say there aren't any trophies because it was supposed to be part of the base game that was later removed to nickel and dime us with. Given that you can actually see the parts of the city that are locked, the content is probably already on the disc. Ubisoft seem to be trying to earn Namco-Bandai's crown as kings of bullshit DLC.

@watermanx - obviously your missing the point I was trying to make, that 10bobmarleys made a lot better.

This isn't a game add on it's probably on the disc

begs the question

In this instance is the butt ugly modern usage of the term for raises the question.
Dumb ass modern usage is also to blame for the current ambiguity of the meaning of art. This is why we can't have nice things, but can have ridiculous circle arguments as to whether games are art.

They might show up in the next one, I did give the impression that the next one will be longer than this one...

Flying Machine whenever you want is a welcome bonus. Maybe not one worth money, but a bonus.

Tbh achievements has to be the most annoying thing ever... I don't care if I killed 1500 guards with throwing knives... I don't CARE if I killed 10 people, because it's bound to happen anyway right? Achievements belong in games like TF2, not fucking single player games bleah, and all games have it nowadays -.-

I say thank you Ubisoft

You say that like it hurts the experience. I don't play online but I'd imagine Achievements for online games would encourage cheaters and hurt the experience.

What hurts the experience is the fact that they admitted this was FROM THE MAIN GAME. I don't care if it didn't add to the full experience, I don't mind if it has no trophies... but I don't see how this is justifiable.

I kind of have to agree with the first post. This DLC has no achievements because it was on the original disc and within the first 1000 gamer points.

It is also pretty laughable and somewhat pathetic that I will purchase the second pack of DLC for this game just to avoid having to play through the entire thing again to pick up a missed flying machine achievement that is impossible to get after completing that mission.

I love how everyone missed the fact that they cut this due to time limits, and now they at least have the opportunity to release the content they originally planned. It would be nice if they released it for free, since it was supposed to be in the game from the start, but considering that stuff gets cut from games that still turn out nice and beefy all the time, I'd quit your bitching. I'm sure there's some partial content from this DLC already on the disc (parts of the city, the game engine), but not anywhere near a playable state.

A playable state? If the environment, characters, game code and all that stuff is ALREADY on the disk! What is missing? A dialogue video done with the game engine itself? Does it take sooo much time to create it? Believe what you want to believe, my position is that we're talking about Greed, not time limits. It's Ubisoft stance nowadays. It happened with Prince of Persia (you had to pay extra DLC for the REAL end of the story) and now with AC2. Just wait for Splinter Cell Conviction, it's gonna be funny...

Yeah, it's too bad the game was a bummer or I might actually care about this DLC. Achievements would at least sooth the pain a tiny bit by boosting my score, but I don't think I can tolerate more of the Assassin's Creed bullshit.

I loved Assassins Creed 2, but I think I'll wait till the Sequence 13 comes out and buy them both together, and play them through in one big lump. That, and I'd need to get the game from my sister.
