Ah, Bionic Commando. I loved that game. It seems like just last week when I was talking about how they should have just remade the original instead of the wierd, post-apocalyptic reinvention. Wait - that was last week, and it seems like Capcom heard my cries.

IGN reports that the latest Famitsu has a look at Bionic Commando: Master D Revival Plan, a 3D remake of the original title. In Japan, it sports the slightly cooler title of Hitler's Revival.

Aside from a 3D overhaul, it seems that the title will also see a simultaneous two player mode as well as some elements that will tie to the new Bionic Commando title. Nifty!

The title will eventually be sold through Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Store. We don't have a release date yet, but Japanese gamers will get their hands on this download this Spring.

Are you ready to go double Commando

That's awesome.

I hope they keep the exploding head ending.

With this and the POP remake, XBLA is a great place for old games made new again.

How would a 3D remake even work?

Bionic Paper Commando!

P.S. That's the worst Bionic Commando gameplay video I have ever seen... The person playing should just disconnect their system and never look back.

@ Grayfox

Its not a 3d remake. They are just re-doing the graphics using 3d elements but the game will remain quite the same, as in staying a 2d side scroller, just with pretty gfx.

Wow, what great news. I was just thinking the other day that I really wanted to play through Bionic Commando again. This can't come soon enough. Hopefully we'll have it by the summer...

Oh great, a 3D Commando I might actually play. :D
I don't care if they remake the arcade or NES version, this is good news either way.

Now I wonder if Nintendo will release the original on VC soon to attempt to combat this new remake. Or if the remake will include the original game.
