I know this is all the same sentence but I broke it up into 2 parts for a reason:
First quote/half kinda spits in the face of your other article about the Book of Memories Facebook thing, even if the quote itself isn't pointed at the PS3 people who are complaining, but the xbox/PC folks telling them to quit it.
I mean, you trashed the Silent Hill group for having pretty much a similarly (albeit misguided) set of opinions as possibly any person complaining about the PS3 not being able to run Bethesda's stuff. You pretty much claimed that because they decided that they needed to make a group to complain harder, that their opinions (most of which were goofy as fuck no matter how you slice it) weren't really all that valid because they were over reacting -when, honestly, that's how most gamers ever really react to anything.
So I don't know if I see it as different that these people tell them they're over reacting. The fact that they aren't doing in as a well thought out set of words/thoughts as you did, doesn't really change the fact that the goal is the same as yours, with that prior article.
The second part in separated into quotation really is what happens any way, isn't it? Think about it, even if that's not what you meant, its still a pretty distinct fact that everyone chooses to forget: Bethesda makes games that are buggier then shit, pisses people off, but then those same people laugh it off with a wink and a nod and keep throwing their cash at them and handing them awards for it, just to loop around and get pissed all over again. Same as it ever was.
It doesn't take simply buying another console to do it, all Bethesda/Zenimax needs to do is simply release a game with the gamebryo engine(or whatever new-but-used-gamebryo-parts engine Skyrim had) and let the same old shit fly as the last time.
Simply put, Bethesda/Zenimax now knows they don't really need to do jack shit to get people to buy their games or to be named game of the year. They have the buzz of the whole industry simply by whispering that they've got a game in the works. They let the customers hash out how to fix their games, cause, you know, customers have been basically paying to fix their games for pretty much a decade now, if not more.
I do have to admit though, most of Daniel Anderson's quote was pretty spot on before he went overboard. Sony -not even just its hardcore fans- falls all over themselves ridiculously at their exclusives.. Its pretty much been the PS3 creedo that if it isn't exclusive to the system then it isn't worth their time. So yeah, he had a point that when it turns around on them they start bitching and moaning.. But then he just devolves into idiocy with the rest of the quote.

To be fair, we haven't seen the comments by the Sony fans that may have lead to many, if not all of these comments.

The reason that the DLC may never come out on the PS3 is the save structure the engine uses to track changes to the world. As the player can rub themselves on any one of nine million bits of useless nonsense in the gameworld the game has to remember where they were. That means that as the game goes on longer the savefile gets larger and larger, up to the point that the PS3's 256MB of system memory is really feeling the strain of trying to contain all that world state data and do anything useful to actually running the game.
That's why as your game time increases on the PS3 the framerate and load times both turn to shit. The same problem happens to the other Gamebryo engined games, Fallout New Vegas was chronic for it.
Adding DLC, obviously, would only give the game even more nonsense to keep track of, and they may simply have found that the engine is at capacity on the platform to the point that adding the DLC would push it over the edge into a genuinely bad player experience.

I think the problem here is Bethesda doesn't know how to PS3. They're doing the same thing Valve was doing. But at least Valve admitted that they didn't like the PS3, and later decided that they were missing out, admitted their mistake, and are now supporting the PS3 in house.

I have a PS3 because I like Sony and their games, and I don't care about internet play. Simple as that. I used to have an xbox360. then i realised there were no decent games coming out for it any time soon so I sold it and got a wii, then sold that and got a ps3.
now I can play metal gear solid 4, little big planet, uncharted, journey. also, I get an operating system that is not plastered with adverts.
and I get controllers that are wireless by default and recharge easily.
it's not that think ps3 is a blatantly better system. there are some things it's not quite so good at. but I just don't have hundreds of ponds to be able to afford two systems. I don't see why i ought to be insulted for that fact and I don't see the sense in insulting other people for their personal choices. and if a company fails to release content on my console when they have clearly made a commitment with the main game. it seems a bit like a slap in the face.

While I hate the tone behind these comments, mostly due to the childishness of it, I agree with Daniel Anderson for the most part. Ps3 users are the first to flaunt their exclusives, and they're also the first to complain when they don't get something. If they want reliable dlc and online gaming, then they should make the switch to Xbox, otherwise they're welcome to keep playing their excellent exclusive single player games. Truth is, there is no one console to rule them all. Each one has its benefits, and each has its own downfalls. As much as fanboys want to believe it, there is no perfect console, not even PC master race. There will always be complainers and I-told-you-so's, right now it's PS3 users complaining about not having a certain pack of dlc; next time it might be Xbox players complaining about not having an exclusive title. You just have to accept your console's downfalls, and not berate the ones of others.

They do realize that the reason the PC is getting it is because the PC can handle it, the reason the 360 is getting it is because the 360 is a stones throw from an off the shelf PC......

1) Skyrim shouldn't have been released on PS3 in the first place, the system's lacking in memory to handle the game without dumbing down other aspects of it. When you expand it further and it was broken to start with... well you're just being stupid Bethesda. Its like the "Uncharted couldn't work on XBOX" argument only this time ITS ACTUALLY TRUE

It's simple apathy and incompetence on the part of Bethesda. They can't make the product correctly nor do they care enough to find a way to make it work.

This is just an awful situation. Doesn't change the fact that Skyrim is a fantastic game, though (granted, for those that can actually get it to work reliably). Being too reactionary makes you no better than those poor misguided folks making the comments we just read.

Sorry for the double post: I forgot to mention that modern people are also hopelessly brainwashed consumers. They will blindly support whatever they like (or spend money on, if it involves social groups and status), even if it's morally wrong, proven incorrect, or visibly screwing them inside out. I mean, just because a person wants to support or be a part of something doesn't mean they should bend over backwards and take everything up the ass for it. I have to say, those fanatics don't reflect on any 360-only fans I know. As a multi platform console owner, I hope PS3 gets better support. On the otherhand, Bethesda may as well stop porting to Playstation if they don't really want to support it.
