Take this for what it's worth, but it was announced today that the PlayStation 3 and Sony received a Best of Innovation honor for the Electronic Gaming category by the 2007 CES crew. According to my handy dandy press release, here's the criteria for winning the award: "Judges review and evaluate each entry based on engineering qualities, the product's intended use/function, unique/novel features, impacts on the manufacturer's business model and aesthetic and design qualities." At the very least, this should provide those willing to shell out $600 with some sense of comfort. Sorry Nintendo fans, it looks like the Wii didn't quite make the cut. I'm guessing they just didn't care to enter, but who knows. By the way, in case you're one of the two people wondering why I haven't posted all day: 1) Gears of War and 2) I've been stuck at this boring pre-CES event all afternoon.
