The hits keep on rolling for Sony's PS3. Earlier this week, we learned that the PS3 Slim was selling like crazy in the UK, and it's now become known that around 40,000 of them have made their way into the hands of British consumers. With the PS3 increasing its sales by 999%, you could say it's been a very, very good week for the system.
Sony has not officially revealed sales figures for the PS3 Slim, but it did drop a hint by saying that sales were 20% behind the PS2 Slim's when that system launched in 2004. A short round of mathematics later, and we know the ballpark figure for the PS3 Slim -- 40,000.
It's not quite as impressive as the 150,000-strong Japanese figure, but the numbers are nothing to sniff at. Sony's done good this time, and for that it deserves a golf clap.

on that note i am tempted to get a $300 ps3 slim....
Regardless, I'm impressed by Sony this time. They must have fired the mentally-challenged half of their PR team.
The shirt has small text against a bright background making it the PS3's graphical capabillities something often over looked despite it being plainly clear to see and it is now wraped up by the jacket also refered to as the PS3's improved and larger game library. The belt was the PS3's old sales margin with it being tight and restained and not allowing the PS3 to properly break free of the underpants of shame being worn as if every little weak point of the PS3 was brought on display.
It's beautiful. Simply breathtaking!
Sony's track record of PR/Marketing and so on has me expecting to find out that all of these newly sold 'Slims' have a defect wherein looking at them from a certain angle causes them to explode with the force of an a-bomb.
I hope that's not the case because I plan on buying one next month.
