As far as confirmations go a listing on Germany's version of Amazon is not all that high up there on the scale. However, since shaky cam videos and blurry photos are pretty far down there too this might be the most convincing bit of rumor creation we've seen so far. I am of course talking about the PS3 Slim and right now German Amazon has a listing up for "PlayStation 3 Konsole slim." Roughly translated: The Book of the Dead PS3 Slim! Could it really be?
Well, considering there isn't an image, release date or price it's kind of hard to tell. The only solid information is the description listing as "Plattformunabhängig," which Gizmodo tells us means "Platform independent." We don't know what kind mad men are running Germany's Amazon, so the validity of this could be null and void, but it's always fun to stoke the rumor fires a bit here and there.

The Xbox 360 doesn't need a PS3 slim to get destroyed silly. It does that job just fine by itself.

Hmm, i want a german Konsole, my Console just isn't kutting it.

Back when I was a GameTrailers.com user, I edited my GT points and took screenshots. It didn't make a difference, I just felt like lying.
Guess it is real. It was just waiting to happen. After the PS2 slim, I vowed to wait till the slim PS3 came out before purchasing one, but with great releases, I just gave in.
I think in German, "Konsole" means "Fatboy".
