I don't wanna be "that guy", but Seth Killian actually pointed this bit of info out sometime during/after Evo. Regardless, good news is good news :D
This isn't really surprising. ALL PS3 games support ALL USB-powered controllers. A friend and I have played PS3 games with a mini joystick that didn't even start out as USB -- It had one of those old serial connectors first, and someone spliced a USB cable onto it. It worked on the PS3 flawlessly.
Well, duh. Seth "Motherfucker, I AM FIGHTING GAMES." Killian is working at the developer making that SmashBros ripoff.
As someone stated this isn't really news Sony just wants to keep this on the tip of everyone's tongue.
Sony is reaching REALLY HARD to try and make this ripoff work, like REALLY HARD look they've even dumped a ton of dough on that Killian guy to get the hardcore fans attention, it's like Millhouse though he's still not a meme and this will not really gain the rabid fans Sony for some reason has in mind while its wacking off in its closet.

Since i cant picture myself playing smash bros with effectively with an arcade stick, i have to say i cant picture myself using one for this game either : /
Why people dont talk about the gameplay? Its play like UMvsC3.

Are you guys sure Brawl is compatible with sticks? I bought one specifically for it and it registered the stick as the directional pad.

This does not seem like the type of game I'd like to play on an arcade stick, but okay.
Like others I think Sony Smash Bros looks like a Smash Bros clone, but with Seth working on it I'm sure there will be differences. Kinda mixed on this game though really. I didn't grow up with Sony so I don't care for the cast at all. On the other hand, I love Smash Bros. I feel like I shouldn't care about this game, but I sort of do. I hope they add a Demon's Souls character at some point...
