If you have more money than sense and wanted some night vision goggles to go with your PS3, then you're out of luck. Amazon.com has sold out of the PS3 version of Modern Warfare 2: Prestige Edition. I guess your $149.99 will have to go on something useless and space-consuming now.
Interestingly, the Xbox 360 version still appears available, although for how long is anybody's guess. You can feel free to claim that this is a victory for Sony, undeniable proof that the PS3 version of Modern Warfare 2 is the superior alternative and far more popular.

If you have FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE US DOLLARS to spend on a console, you have $150 for the NVG's.
As for the Night Vision... DAMN! I wanted some but I thought about it too long. I looked online and the cheapest pair was like $1-2k. I guess it's for the better, I really don't need them.

that's pretty much how it's gone down so far and I've gone in twice and I plan to go back again and soon to ask again as why the HELL can they not know about a game that costs as much as a handheld system??? ($180cdn)
That sounds about right. I've had some fantastic conversations with Gamestop/EB employees. Recently I called to see if they had any RE5 in stock for PS3 and to make sure it was indeed on sale for $39.99 as their weekly online ad stated.
The girl on the line had no clue. I was just like, "I'm looking at your online ad right now and that's what it says". "Uhhh sorry sir, but that ad just came out and in fact I'm entering all the information now as our new prices and sales start on Sunday". To which I had the joy of replying "Why does your ad say that it's effective as of Friday two days ago then?". "Uhhhhhhhhhhhh..."

And you sure as hell don't seem to like how Germany demands pussyfication of games in the name of youth protection, even though they are just meant to be played by adults, right ? And am I right if I say that you politely disagree with Activision's policy of breaking british and european MW2 fan's balls by adding 5 pounds on top of a sure-fire blockbuster selling out on day one ?
So what if I told you, that you could help me and hundreds of gamers across Europe and Australia by asking Activision a simple question ?! In return you get to enjoy yourself, by slapping your giant cohones right in the face of whatever unlucky PR person gets to give you an undesirable answer !

Here is my problem:
I'm one of those stupid MW2 fans caught up in the hype surrounding the game. I'm pretty resistent to hype but this game is a must buy on day one for me. I'm also, like many of my german gamer brethren, strongly opposed to the ridicoulus censorship and giant ugly usk logos here in my homeland ! So beside being vocal about my discontent towards censorship, I also don't support the german market and import my games from the UK, since I'm also strongly opposed to the horrendous german dubs present in the Austrian uncut versions and I don't support Austria either, because they sent us that goddamn megalomaniac by the name of Adolf, who ruined it for everybody except for Infinity Ward, whom got stinkin' rich with WW2 games. So in essence Austria is the main reason for the massive censorship in german video games today, but back to my main point !
I want to have the Prestige Edition, which unfortunately was almost immediately sold out at its exclusive UK dealer HMV. That still leaves two options, get the US version or the UK hardened edition, which in return isn't really an option, since I might be a huge CoD4 fan, but I'm not mentally retarded or desperate enough (yet) to lube myself up to get analy raped by Activision 70 pound price point. Unlucky for me, I'm a 360 owner, meaning Actigreed might region lock MW2 on said console to avoid gray imports from the US by intelligent people like me, who know that globalisation isn't only possible for teh big Corps !
I'm not willing though to pre-order the US version of MW2's P. Ed. just to find out a day before release that it's locked. I'm not super rich so I'd have to wait until I get my money back, order the game again for 70 pounds + painful unlubricated butt rape, since I don't have time to lube up for Activision, in order to get the game as fast as possible, before all the 12 hour a day playing, "my momma fucking" 8 year old kids start to fist my, by all the acti-raping, already inflamed anus in multiplayer, metaphoricaly speaking of cause !
To make a long speech short !
Could you, by the official officiality invested in you by your great leader Niero, ask Activision / Infinity Ward if the US 360 version of MW2 will be region locked or region free ?
Not that they'll answer you, but at least we, your readers, will be wildly amused following you on your quest, should you accept it, trying to get an answer from random PR person X and watching you fall into a mad testosteron and fast food fueled nerd rage, making random PR person X choke on their own spin, and by spin I mean your giant balls in their tiny mouth !
