PS3 Left 4 Dead has a

The whole Left 4 Dead PS3 thing is so messed up by now that I kind of wish they  would leave it for dead. But a game this great needs to be multi-console, so we'll continue to hope for a PS3 port.

The latest on a PS3 version comes from Valve's Doug Lombardi, who told CVG that a PS3 version is possible... in the most half-assed way ever.

"We're always evaluating what's happening in the marketplace and certainly something that's happening in the last couple of months is that Sony's managed to sell some boxes," said Lombardi.

"So whether or not you like developing for that platform, if they've got millions of people connected to that platform and buying their games you have to take it seriously."

The PS3 odds? "50-50 right now," said Lombardi.

"There's zero chance of it happening this year. It's something that's being talked about right now as the game is gaining popularity and looking like it's going to be a hit."

It's so funny how they don't acknowledge the PS3 at all! But, hey, multiplatform is always good, and Valve is smart. We'll remain hopeful.

[Thanks, Action Bastard]

If L4D sells a lot of copies, you can probably safely bet that it will eventually show it's zombie-marred face on the PS3, Valve needs money just like every other company does.

I'm glad I have a 360 and don't have to worry about things like not being able to play Left 4 Dead when it's released.

I'm glad its going to the 360 first, it needs an exlusive title since the increase of PS3 fanboys cry for games they can't have... Bioshock...

This is a 360 exclusive title? That's news to me.

Fucking EGM lists it as 360 exclusive and it makes me >_<

It's not exclusive. It's coming on PC too.

This game is going to be awesome. But to be honest, I haven't seen something that really makes me go "wow."

you Sir, are hilarious.

Anyways, I have a 360, so I don't give a rats ass. I'm playing this SOB on release day. I hope I didn't just jinx myself with some RROD karma.

Well, I'm happy I have my 360. But I do hope this comes out for PS3, more people need to play this.

Anyone who cares about enjoying this game already has a PC running TF2 beautifully anyway.

The 360 version intrigues me, with its split screen co-op, but with the whole TF2 update debacle, I think the PC will be the safest bet.

I think my XBOX will declare it an act of war if I start killing its AI Zombie chumps faster that 000.01 Per Millenia and may force itself to Systematically Implode....

Does anyone really expect a company started by former microsofties and stupid enough to run beta microsoft code and have their source stolen is going to acknowledge PS3 unless it's demolishing the competition like PS2 did?

@hpv- I do still think that the ps3 will eventually take over the 360- I think it will be a matter of time though- give it a year to two and you will see the ps3 pushing ahead- there are a lot more multiplatform games coming out and sony does have some nice exclusives coming up but for now the xbox continues on. Personally I am a ps3 owner (I have a wii too, but it is a fun box, not really a gaming console) and I don't really want to support MS or it's platform- I am not a fan of their practices or their ethic- but I do acknowledge that for now throwing money at vendors is working for them.

This is the part where some major publisher buys Valve and gives them the ultimatum of "port it or else."

i do like this game, but my 360 is dying, its freezing on live arcade games. not to mention the drive making some weird grinding noise when it spins down. its also my second one and probably wont be buying a 3rd for some time.

but having a PS3 as well im looking forward to "MAG"

I would like this on my PS3. It would be nice for the 360 to lose a console exclusive every once and a while.

@ ANeM: you're sure there's gonna be split-screen. If there is this title just went from must try to must buy.

They shouldn't have to make anything for anything. If doing it for the ps3 is too much of a hassle and Sony wants the game so bad then Sony can PAY Valve to allow Sony to port it for Valve.

Everyone wins.
They shouldn't HAVE to port it just cause the ps3 is there. Its their game.

kind of a stupid thing to say 50-50 chances or not more than enough people own the console to justify developing for it. That said i've got no intentions of getting this game even if it ever comes out on the triple...then again atleast it seems better than braid wtf is up with all the hype on that one (yes i played it)

do we really need games from Valve on the PS3 ... i don't think so. with the fail of the orange box on the PS3. it`s obvious that valve is not a very professional studio and they need easy dev kit to build there games

smaller studios made great games on the PS3 like naughty dogs , insomiac for example so why valve can't do the same ... easy ... because it's a bunch of dumbass
