PS3 Home is still on target for Fall release photo

Sony might be still trying to figure out why their latest firmware update for the PS3 caused some (mine still works like a charm) consoles to malfunction, but that hasn't distracted them from their other big update in the works: PlayStation Home.

According to PSN director, Eric Lempel, the oft-delayed service is very much on track for a fall release, and won't be a gimped version of what Sony has been promising us all along:

“The reason we’ve been delaying Home is so that we can deliver a high quality service that the users will enjoy. Even though it will be in beta, it will be a fair representation of what the service can be and its potential, so it won’t be a 0.5 release, it will be a fully robust service.”

With today being July 4th and all, that release is fast approaching. Are gamers still as jazzed to go Home as they once were? Sony is banking on it.

I'm not anxious for this after being on the home beta for like 2 years now BUT, it could be interesting and fun when we do get it.

Oh boy. Is it me or Sony is making things look awfully similar to PC gaming for all the wrong reasons? I mean this I would expect from some BS company on the PC market that can't even release a working game and announces other games, sequels and updates before even patching game killing bugs.

So the 360 brings out the worst hardware known to console history, Sony has everything to get ahead now and instead will fade away by botching updates and bricking consoles and Nintendo is becoming rich by telling yuppies and old people they are fat.

Some of the next gen games look really beautiful, but at what price? More over conscious intelligent gamers are now being pushed out of their own hobby by dumbass fanboys who put up with this crap.

HEY, this title was used last year for the same news, but with "2007" instead of "2008"!

I'm not at all opposed to Home. I like the idea of making my apt. look like silent hill.

Home is going to be cool, but after all of the delays, as a PS3 owner I don't want to hear anymore about Home until Sony says its ready to download. I hope that it really is coming out in Fall, but I am not holding my breath.

PLEASE SONY, NO MORE TEASING!!!!!!

Is this the right time to predict that Home will be delayed or released as a working beta?

@Jpitner: Yes thats why I constantly claim PC gaming is dying, its nothing but an inconvenient and expensive receptor for console ports and DRM and bugs have grown to be such a problem I no longer update my gaming pc...

*sigh*

If you wanna call me a fanboy call me a grief fanboy since im just disappointed and jaded with all gaming companies nowadays.

@Buck

I was under the impression that it was going to launch beta as well. I'm still banking on seeing it before 2010, which I know is a silly thing to do, but then I'm a dreamer. Silly, silly dreamer...

i have no problem w/ delays. it shows quality assurance. as long as its error free and filled w/ good features then i don't care when it comes out.
