hopefully we also get that exclusive art :P
man soo many trilogy being announced.
maybe they'll announce Dead Space Trilogy, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Trilogy, Uncharted Trilogy(with ALL DLC's) Dead Rising Saga(DR1,DR2,DR2OTR), Atelier Trilogy, Hyperdimension Neptunia Trilogy, Record of Agarest Saga etc.
glad i didn't bought Brotherhood and Revelations so this is a good deal for me :)
the JPN cover is much more better though :\

Its not something I'm going to rage over like people did for Bayonetta because the circumstances for that franchise are radically different, but these two big established franchises really have no business going exclusive - especially Kingdom Hearts, which has managed to spread nine releases among six platforms in ten years - that that's not counting Final Mix releases in Japan. which brings it up to twelve.
Now a seventh platform with an exclusive HD collection.
Its almost like SE is trying to alienate its fanbase
Shit story that is going nowhere.
Crap combat.
Tacked on multiplayer.
Annualized release on a game that focuses on single player mainly.
Sigh...Ubisoft, you suck more than square-Enix.
i understand where your getting at with the asscreed games but kingdom hearts has only been sony and nintendo. so as for main series entries which were ps exclusives it makes perfect sense if kingdom hearts 3 continues the tradition and be a ps exclusive.
In all honesty though if kindgom hearts 3 comes out next gen it should be on ps4 and wii u.
Story is a matter of opinion - it obviously develops story, hence time passes in the animus sequences? Just because Revelations did nothing fro Desmond's story does not mean it's not moving forward, it was just branching out to complete Ezio(a beloved character)'s storyline.
'Crap' Combat compared to what? Duck Hunt? Call of Duty? The combat is far better than a lot of the other third-person action games this gen, look at Uncharted; the melee system is poor at best and Drake shouldn't be able to kill someone with a punch to the groin. Not to mention AC3's combat system is as fluid as a fucking river.
Multiplayer? I agree there, but you don't come to a dynamic story-driven game looking for multiplayer anyway.
Also Square-Enix has done nothing wrong (apart from the whole Final Corridor 13 fiasco (excluding Versus)), plus Ubisoft has really turned around in the past gen and are making some fairly decent games, look at Watch Dogs or Rayman Legends.
...then again, I guess that's what "Game Of the Year" editions were, too...
I think BECAUSE of the enjoyable multiplayer, I'll offload my 360 collection in favor of going all PS3... But, maybe I'll wait to see if this goes to WiiU, and if Nintendo's online is as at least as competent, capable, and free as PSN.
Compare ASScreed's combat to Demon/Dark Souls, Arkham, The Witcher 2, Ninja Gaiden(not 3), Skyrim in third person, God of War, Devil May Cry, DA: O, even Dragon's Dogma, it looks very shitty.
Nothing but enemies waiting, waiting, one attacks, counter/insta-kill, rinse and repeat.
What's more laughable about ASScreed is how you can just sit between two people and Abra kadabra, you are now invisyto guards. Yep, the one guy wearing all white doesn't stand out at all amongst Roman or Constantinople civilians.
@TheNopeMan Thanks for reminding me why I don't like asscreed. I was almost interested in this for a split second.
Metal Gear has mostly been between Sony and Nintendo as well, but they didn't squander the HD collection on one platform. Now the main releases look to be multiplatform. With a the following MGS has, its understand people might migrate from Playstation.
Skyrim? You gotta be kidding.
And come on, how the hell are you comparing ASS CREED with God of War and other games like Ninja Gaiden that have nothing to do with it?
Your head, out of your ass, please sir.
"after all the cell phones, consoles and handhelds KH has jumped around?after all the cell phones, consoles and handhelds KH has jumped around?"
Like he said, "all the consoles and handhelds" have been Sony and Nintendo. Sony for the 'proper' entries (unless you count DDD as one) and Sony ones for the proper, non spinny off crap. Nintendo is used for a quick cash grab. Sony is used for the good stuff. That's the tradition as Sayword said, it makes sense that they haven't branched off yet.
Oh, and the 'port' of the only Nintendo game in the collection isn't even a port. It's just cutscenes. Might also have something to do with it being easier for them to push over 3 PS2 games (KH1, Rechain and KH2) and a PSP game (Birth By Sleep) - in the inevitable KH 2.5) to the PS3?
I don't see your (lack) of logic in saying that by not putting it out on 360 is causing SE to lose their fanbase. KH fans most likely have a PS3 and if they don't, you're not required to buy the HD remix. It's just a HD remix. If you're part of that fan base, you most likely own or have played it on those platforms.
Stop being a crybaby, it's not a big deal how they've spread out the series on different platforms. If they wanted to make 'smaller' games outside of the main series, then it makes perfect sense to go to the handheld platforms. You hail Metal Gear Solid as a series that went to both PS3 and 360, I don't hear you whining that it's also been on PS2, PS3, 360, Vita, 3DS, GBC, Gamecube.
The fact of the matter, the proper entries have been Sony exclusive. All you REALLY needed to enjoy the series without all the filler shit is a Sony console. That still seems to be the case.
Get your head out of your ass, and stop letting fanboyism cloud your judgement.
SE has alienated a lot of potential KH buyers with their incessant, platform-jumping. PS2, GBA, DS, cell phones, PSP, 3DS and now PS3. Babble about it staying between Sony and Nintendo all you like but it just seems more efficient to reach people like this:
Dream Drop Distance and BBS to 3DS, PSP and Vita
HD collections to Wii U, PS3 and 360
The franchise is now ten years old and in that time people might have migrated from the Playstation platform to others.
Honestly? I stopped giving a damn about the series and I have a 3DS, they have dragged this series on too long through too many releases and too many platforms. I will say KH had no influence on my choice of said platforms, so I was still able to play many of them but even I got burnt out right after starting KH3D. I sent it back to Gamefly without even really getting that far.
I am sorry if you being faced with logic somehow makes me a "crybaby," but SE's choices tend to defy logic.
Wait, what? Really?
Haha wow, getting off point here, but damn, I thought Dragon's Dogma executed their combat quite well. So much so I'd consider it one of the few redeeming qualities the game has.
But why no Wii U release? That makes no sense. Rage!
"SE has alienated a lot of potential KH buyers with their incessant, platform-jumping."
Nope, you're going to buy Kingdom Hearts 3 when it comes out, as are all the other fans and you know it. Bullshit on the 'efficiancy' you speak of, also. Has Resident Evil hit a roadblock or alienated its audience on all the platform jumping and rehashes they've been doing? Why is it not efficient to bring Revelations over from the 3DS to the Vita then? BECAUSE DEVELOPERS.
People migrated to other consoles? Sounds like a dumb excuse to validate your (wrong) point of this being a weird move for SE. Why would anyone 'migrate' to another console? Going to the 360 because they 'grew up', got fed up of over the top Japanese RPGs and onto more 'mature' experiences like FPS games (generalising here)? Then you're not part of the audience that Kingdom Hearts is trying to capture anyway. You're not going to be alienated, because you've alienated yourself by 'migrating'.
If you're a fan and you migrated, you're not really missing out on anything here anyway. It's a rehash. You've been there, done that. You're not being alienated from anything.
You've jumped from saying SE is alienating its fanbase to "Kingdom Hearts buyers" which is a much broader demographic. Either way, this game existing and being exclusive to PS3 isn't hurting the fanbase at all. And it's not alienating it. You want it, you buy a PS3. You don't, you have no reason to feel left out. Exclusives bro, they happen.
I don't see your beef with all the platform jumping. You don't need to invest in any but ONE console for the Kingdom Hearts experience. You have a choice in not getting into the platform jumping. Why are you feeling alienated? Do you not realise that all of them are just quick little spin-offs to get grab your cash? Be smarter, dude. Maybe BBS and DDD are a bit more than that, but at the time BBS suited the Vita in that it wasn't the huge experience built for a console, but a nice little game that was only possible for the PSP. Ditto for DDD with its interface.
I myself was a MASSIVE Kingdom Hearts fan. I myself think all the spin offs on different platforms are a convoluted piece of shit. But I don't feel alienated by it. And when Kingdom Hearts 3 drops, I'm going to lap that shit up like the hungry dog I am because I'm a fan of Kingdom Hearts proper, not the filler.
I mean, I don't bloody own a PS3 but I can accept that if I want to play it, I'm going to have to invest in it. Just like Zelda fans are going to have to grab a Kleenex and buy a Nintendo console.
You're right, I don't see your logic, because it's hiding under a big invisibility cloak that's stained in cow piss.
