PS3 Euro launch in March? Maybe they just didn't tell the ad agency ... photo

Last month, SCEE boss David Reeves confirmed to Gamesindustry.biz that the PlayStation 3 was on schedule to launch in March of 2007. On hearing the news, the Europeans let out a continent-wide 'meh' (except in France, where it is reported that they let out a 'le meh') and promptly went back to enjoying their socialized health care and old world culture.

Gamesindustry.biz, who are always on the lookout for ways to make life in the PAL territories more difficult (see our expose next week that pins the Holocaust on them), has apparently spoken with TBWA, the ad agency behind all of those bizarre, psuedo-hip ads that Sony keeps pumping out, and TBWA seems to believe the March launch simply can not happen.

From the article:

Speaking to GI.biz, a spokesperson for advertising agency TBWA said the marketing campaign for the console "launches towards the end of March" - which would suggest that an early March date is unlikely.

Sorry to break the news like this Europe, but it looks like you'll have to wait a bit longer for the overly expensive new toy. Then again, at this point, you guys are kinda used to being screwed by game companies, so consider this just another friendly reminder that the world loves America more.

(Editor's Note: Europe, I'm so sorry, baby. They make me type this stuff. I've loved you all along. Ever since that night under the Champs Elysee, I can't stop thinking about you! Why won't you return my calls? -- Eternally yours, Nexypoo)

"aring the news, the Europeans let out a continent-wide 'meh' (except in France, where it is reported that they let out a 'le meh')" LOL, but I dinīt notice any Wii hipe in Germany too but at the launch there was a shitload of people. Weīll see.

I actually donīt give a fuck about the PS3.

Also why is there always stuff about Nazis Holocaust and other "Making Germans look bad" things?

I seem to recall PS3 advertising and hype in Europe being at an all time high, right after E3 and even leading up to when Sony announced the launch delay.

In fact, at a time when there was NO advertising in the US, Europeans were playing beyond and making dolls cry, no?

Well considering it's the middle of January, and no release date has been announced...yeh. September 2008 folks!

Not that I personally give a damn. My Wii and PC is enough for me!!

Nex, this is the ad agency that asks people to design their material for them and then concurrently own the rights isn't it? Quality, and who says there's no such thing as a free lunch? (could pay Ģ500 I suppose).

BTW I thought your joke was pretty funny.
