Rumors of Mass Effect coming to the PlayStation 3 have been given a fresh dose of fuel thanks to some new source code dug out of the PC version of Mass Effect 2. According to Polish site Kikoo, the code suggests that a PS3 version of the game exists somewhere, perhaps locked away in a golden vault in the polar region.
Electronic Arts has offered a staunch "no comment" on the situation, neither confirming nor denying the code and what it might mean. For what it's worth, here is the code itself:

Hell you can put Mass Effect 1 and 2 in a single Blu ray disc.
This could have easily been a mistake or a 'just in case' bit.
Either way, weird. If they do release ME, I'd hope they think to release ME1 first. But I don't see this going multiplatform, they would (and could) have easily done it several times by now.
I just hope it doesn't take a year.

Also, I remember when Sega did this with Condemned: Criminal Origins. One of the best launch titles of all time and an XBox 360 exclusive. When Condemned 2 came out, PS3 peeps didn't much care because they didn't get the awesomeness that is the original. Unless they played it on PC of course.

Whether or not they succeeded at that goal, they made it clear playing the original was not the only way to enjoy the sequel.

You know, that how i justify not owning a xbox. Since microsoft owns it, a lot of th good exclusives go to pc, i have a descent graphics card. So i played mass effect 1, grand theft auto (sucked) and left 4dead. This doesn't happen for ps3 exclusives and it is my way of saying fuck u microsoft. The beautiful thing is, i didnt have to pay money to go online in left4dead(i also didnt have to buy it, thanks free steam weekend).
I don't care either way really, I don't need it on my PS3 because I've got it on PC with shinier bells and whistles, but I wouldn't completely count out a PS3 version seeing as Bioshock made it's way over.
Also, doesn't Microsoft call the shots whether Bioware can port the game to the PS3? No doubt if Microsoft allows it, they'll find a way to profit from it.

In all reality if I could go back in time 3 years and not spend the $500 on my elite, I would. I barely use it anymore as owning multiple consoles it really hasn't had a strong lineup as of late.
All the good games are multi-plat, and I usually just grab them on PS3 or PC. As for exclusives, the PS3 and Wii have had a better selection as of late, unless your a halo fan, ODST was kind of disappointing, I've loved L4D2, but have it on PC, as it was dirt cheap on steam.
MS really needs to pick up the pace this year, and I'm hoping for a decent E3 to get me excited about owning a 360 again. Not another emabarassing "Ever wonder what it looks like to see the bottom of an avatar's shoe? Well here it is..... WA-BAM" Natal glitch fest.
Hell both mass effects will probably wind up on one disk sometime in the near future.Masser effect.
