Oh boy I can't wait for the people that bitch about all the gritty brown dude bro shooters on the ps3 when in reality there are far more games that are not dude-bro out and coming out that they like to ignore to bitch about this.
So if my wife didn't pick up that Kinect bundle my kid will just have to wait a few montys for the Sony kiddie machine to kick in? Hopefully they put out some decent games for the younger crowd... they get the shaft game-wise mostly. Still, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that bundle and Once Upon a Monster.

Well they do have the last guardian I hope, sly 4, their crossover fighting game[/spoiler] I am guessing[/spoiler] coming out next year. And we also still have hardcore mature games like Twisted Metal (why are people ignoring this?) and Starhawk.

If their starting to "switch" demographics than I think the only answer can be that their trying to get the last push and as much money from the console before a ps4 announcement, makes sense if you think about, any "core" gamer who wants one should have one by now, so yeah, I think it's a smart move. On that note, I wonder which will come first, the ps4, or Versus XIII.

What a waste of time. The only people keeping the PS3 afloat are the core gamers. Alienate them, even just a little bit, and you will feel their wrath Sony. YOU are the only truly hardcore market on the system, keep it that way. Nintendo is obviously family friendly and someone vut off Microsoft's balls when the Kinect released (seriously have you seen the last 2 E3 Microsoft Conferences??).

Jim, you really do just hate the fuck out of Sony, don't you? Anyway, my kids have a Wii with dozens of games they can get stupid with while they're loaded up on sugar and coca cola. They even have special wiimotes to fit their deformed little midget hands. There's really no point in trying to convert them to the PS3 or Xbox at this point. Besides, those are mine.
The PS3 already has a nice stable of family-friendly titles like LittleBigPlanet, The Lego games, Disney Universe and such. If they keep making more good E rated titles like those, then I wouldn't mind.
i'm sorry, but all of Sony's attempts at games for everyone failed so hard this gen it's not even funny. they better stick to producing more Call of Duty clones and cash-ins like they did in the past several months.

BUT on serios note mayb one day (when ps4 comes around) $ony will finaly realize that Microsoft is the king of intanse hardcore adult shooters and go back to making fun platforming games like Ratchet and Clank, Jax Dexter and Crash Bandicoot like in its golden PS1 times when. yeah, maybe the wording is a little harsh, and like I said, the series isn't on par with Call of Duty or anything, but they definitely made the game more gritty, they definitely made it more dark, and the primary method of combat shifted from traditional platformer fare, to needing to use guns to survive, so I'm going to continue to say it was rebooted as a "gritty dark shooter"

Does that mean more quality platformers? If so, yay. I want Jak and Daxter 5. And a new Ratchet & Clank that doesn't suck. And maybe a new Crash Bandicoot that doesn't suck, but maybe that's asking too much.
