Hopefully it's available on the EU store as well!
Glad to see Golden Age Capcom and Atlus being represented on PSN. I still have my PS2 copy of the game but once I'm working again I'll still get this just to have the convenience of it.
I just cannot forgive seeing these great games not reformatted for HD.
As it stands Persona 3 Portable is the superior version of the game and why pay $10 to see the original reduced to blurry ass when you can get better version for $20?
As it stands, I'm already considering putting my PS2 games through an upscaler or emulator since Sony apparently doesn't care enough to give these games the respect they deserve.
You also couldn't preview Fusion results.
The bonus dungeons that appear in P3P are also in FES, but the FES has s story to them that tells you nothing the ending of the game doesn't already tell you. That and you can only fuse demons without the aid of the compendium.
If you're really curious about the extra story in FES, YouTube it, its not worth enduring the extra content to see.
Does Sony have a final say in the matter? I always thought it was up to the developers to decide whether or not for an HD release.
If you know how to use your party, you'll never have an issue having them do anything you want them to do in P3:FES. It was the first SMT game I ever played, and I was in full control of my party the entire time.
Also, while some people may see Persona 4 and an improved version, P3P and P4 only let you equip one type of weapon, have dumbed-down Social Link progression (you can treat characters like shit and they won't care, while in P3 and P3:FES, you actually have to think about what you say), and as far as P3P goes, you miss out on all the animations of the characters from the console version, which takes away from the charm, as far as I'm concerned.
Also, FES is hindered by the fact you must scan every new enemy you come across if you don't want your allies to waste turns acting like morons. They're fine once they know the weaknesses, but it was better that you had control over them anyway.
Also with all the weapon damage types were a massive hindrance to many fights. You should not have Akihiko reduced to only a buffer/healer when he can't use blunt damage or Zio skills. Changing the damage type to Physical just made it more like the other SMT games, Nocturne and DDS are not "dumbed down" for having it. They're harder than either Persona game.
Is "The Answer" alone worth it for the price?
But, seriously Atlus, NOCTURNE, anytime you want.
despite loving it at first, i now prefer the SMT main titles as well as their spin offs.
still recommend P3 FES. The Answer is actully a nice addition(shame it was not on PSP; if it was included it would be the best version of P3)
gonna play Digital Devil Saga 2 soon!!!!!!
I wasn't calling the gameplay dumbed-down, I was calling the Social Link system dumbed-down in P3P and P4. And by weapon type, I thought it was cool that the main character could use a sword or a bow or gloves, etc., I wasn't talking about the other characters there, either. P3P and P4 took that thing that set the original P3 apart from other JRPGs -- P3P and P4 went back to the cliche-as-hell "Oh, you're the main character? Here's a sword that we're forcing you to use for the rest of the game now!"
At least I can play it on my Vita... but ten bucks saved is ten bucks saved...
