Before anyone gets overly excited about Chrono Trigger on the Vita, remember that it's an emulation of the PS1 version, which means loading times of ~5 seconds any time the screen changes. I bought it on PS3 and couldn't stick with it.
Fighting Force? Hmmm...."classic" is a relative term I suppose. Nahbutseriouslythough neat to see so many awesome games up for enjoyment of all people.
Resident Evil 6 is hella fun.

I find it somewhat Ironic that the odds are that the same people who berate homebrew and emulation as "why would anyone want to use their new hardware to play old games" are going to be the same people to jizz all over this news ....
And Vita finally got a little more attractive, now I can play most of the games I had on PSN on it! Maybe I can put together some cash to pick one up early next year... hopefully. Depends on how wallet fares.

Yes, it was a joke. I poke fun at the understandable misuse of the abbreviation just because I find it amusing. I find it interesting the code name persists so long for the PS when, for example, no one calls the Wii "Revolution" any more. Of course, Revolution's a lot more to type.

Word. I remember picking up my copy of Final Fantasy Chronicles and thinking of having some awesome times with CT on the PS1 like I'd had on the SNES, but then those load times happened. :(
The DS version is SO awesome! Totally the best version of the game to pick up.

The Playstation One isn't very portable, and the games and their cases take up considerable additional space.
Personally, I'm always excited to see old games ported into new hardware on modern media or digital distribution, even if it's games I own from old hardware that I still own, as it means I have additional ways of playing these games I love, often while travelling (I played Metal Gear Solid on the plane ride to PAX, for fuck's sake!) so I really cannot grasp why people continue to try and put these types of things down.

Threads of Fate was such a cool game. Too bad I never finished it. The boy's story was just too hard for me to get used to after playing the girl's. I even forget his name.

I have the PS1 version of Rayman on my Vita. Yet whenever I try to play it I cant get past a screen which tells me to insert a controller into port 1! cant even skip it to play the damn game, a load of shit!

I swear SCEA looks through my download list to make sure not to enable the shit I've actually paid for. At least this update contains stuff people actually want to play (I assume; they got me with Parasite Eve 2).
That's okay though, I'm going to stick with my hacked PSP. Who knew 50 Cent: Bulletproof would be a decent Gauntlet ripoff? Too bad it's not on PSN.
Serious question: can you map the rear touchpad for the Street Fighter and Darkstalkers games? I always set HP/HK to R1/R2 on the PS1, and they're really hard to play on a PSP. Top/Right and Bottom/Right on the rear touchpad seems like a natural replacement.

Such a great update! Just got Resident Evil 2 and planning to get Final Fantasy VIII next weekend... they just need to add Silent Hill to achieve perfection (and Castlevania Chronicles wouldn't hurt, too).
Also, with Virtue's Last Reward and Silent Hill: Book Of Memories demo up for download, and currently going over Ada's campaign of RE6 on the 360, this is turning to be a real good week. Planning to replay Leon's too with a friend this saturday, though: it's that good.

I wish I could get excited for decades-old Playstation games I ALREADY OWN. I have a Playstation, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3. They can all play my Playstation library. Final Fantasy IX isn't really tailored for "on-the-go" portability either...

Ahh, the feel of my Vita. It's like new every time. I've picked it up to get Resident Evil 2 today. It's been a paper weight so far, albeit an expensive and pretty one.
