Not like I was bothered by it, but still...
I'll be getting a Vita soon, and my hope is simply that it starts off a little stronger than the PSP so that companies will support it sooner rather than later.
The PSP actually ended up hitting remarkable sales numbers but it was a case of too little too late because most companies had stopped seriously thinking about making big games for it after a couple of years.
No doubt Sony will support the Vita (like the PSP) for a helluva long time, I just hope that other companies do the same. Too much damn potential to let go squandered.
So for me, my iPhone makes more sense at the moment and anything else I can play on my Macbook Pro with windows booted. If I start traveling more for business or whatever, or if I was still in school I'd probably be on this.
It could be a long-lasting success... or it could be like those terrible cult movies that open at #1 at the box office, then fall off the top 10 the next week 'cause nobody except those small vocal fans had any lingering interest.
Seriously though, really good to hear. More games for my sexy Vita pls.
Can't you make a comment without trying to rag on someone, it's makes you seem like an ass. You realize your precious company see's you as a dollar bill right? But yeah,be their cheerleader.
But you have a point. 3DS had better numbers and they were they had to have a price cut to boost sales, so yeah, definitely some Sony PR BS going on.
I suppose we'll know how it's truly doing after we see how big (or small) of a drop in sales week two and three show.
Uncharted is a great game, but it's just not a system seller to me. Bioshock would probably cause me to buy one, but that's further down the road.
Also, price drop.
that 1.2 mln is shipped with roughly 500k consoles shipped on launch week and not counting special bundles that were sold week earlier in US which sold nearly 80k. i would call it pretty disappointing numbers - it certainly is the worst selling handheld from mayor company in the past 3 generations.
Actually, I believe it's across 4 continents. South America is also included in the sales figure.
Since Monster Hunter titles are also set to release on 3DS than I'm defintely waiting now.
I only used my psp for Monster Hunter before giving it away. Now Sony isn't exclusively where to go for MH.
Glad to hear it's a powerful device but it's going to be more than a neat piece of hardware to hook me.
Once COD comes out and Monster Hunter I expect to see the number climb exponentially.
@Sofik88
;_;
Some of you guys suck bigtime...
Fuck haters, I'm absolutely loving vita.
I do hope that the vita becomes the mobile FPS and Third Person Shooter destination. That will clinch it for me. The 3DS is going to have to bring on the jrpgs in order for me to care.
"yet another Sterling misleading article. Sony didn't use "SHIPPED", because they never did. they always use "SALES" in their PR bullshit."
Actually:
"PlayStation Move is the most recent example of how product innovation continues to provide our customers with new and exciting ways to enjoy our technology. We've shipped over one million units in the first month in North and Latin America."
--Jack Tretton, October 21, 2010
Come on, man. That wasn't even hard to find; it was literally the first thing that popped up when I typed "sony ship" into Google!
You're getting rusty, mate.
The sales in the next couple weeks/months will be more indicative.
