Uncharted is pretty "must-have" even with all those sometimes very annoying breaks for the touch screen mini-games.
And as far as downloads go, I was hopelessly addicted to Stardust for a long while.

lol, that made me laugh. The PS Vita my wife got for me last year is just alone in its case.

I think one of the big problems with lack of games is since the graphics are so much better, it's going to take much longer for games to be made than before. I want a Vita, but I want to play RPG's on it. Which it has little to none of so far.
I thought it was pretty much accepted that Japanese buyers buy for software, and there's no big Japanese software available yet...

That's not too bad. It just hasn't hit the "throwaway gift" price point that the DS and the PSP are at. It's not a gift mom and dad are buying for little Colton for passing his math exam. Same problem the 3DS had until it got a price drop.
To be honest i'm glad to hear this, hopefully it will push Sony to lower the price, or come up with some kind of a deal.
As far as I know, Sony can't afford a price drop on the Vita, but it needs one pretty bad, at least in Japan.

I thought the Vita looked really good, and I remember seeing some nice-looking titles. What happened, a handful of good titles around launch then nothing else?
I literally only games I play on the vita are psp games. The one vita game I own is Rayman origins, a port of a console game.

Well, it is still a more expensive system parading about as a $250 one thanks to an obsession with piracy.
I'm just curious why the press isn't ripping Vita a new one two months in when they didn't wait two weeks to rail on the 3DS.

I'm still waiting for a price drop or a bundle. It's not so much about the money as it is I have too many games I haven't played yet.

but people dont even mention the Vita, which had the same problem with launch title games as the 3DS, as in it had no good ones. Rayman Origins is fun but its only by chance I hadnt already got it for another console and Uncharted was so boring and mediocore I traded it in (Im just glad I got it for a discount, I feel bad for anyone who paid £50 for it)

I'd imagine so, this is the slow time for games period. Everything will pick up again once the trade shows start.
I can't say tat software has been an issue for me and I play my Vita constantly. It really is a fantastic handheld. Uncharted was certainly a must buy but once it was over i was done. Been spending majority of my time on Hot Shots Golf and Unit 13. Army Corps of Hell was pretty badass also but gets a little repetitive. Waiting to get Mortal Kombat, Resistance, Gravity Rush and Little Big Planet. I really don't understand the lack of software argument, that's a lot of great games. It wouldn't hurt to have the new GOW on Vita along with some Gran Turismo and Monster Hunter though
For 3DS owners upset that the Vita isn't getting the same bad press that the 3DS got, I actually think it's a very bad thing for the Vita that the media ISN'T going nuts over its poor sales. It makes me wonder if this isn't speaking to what people expect from Sony at this point, or the relevancy of Sony's handhelds in thee current market. People expected more from the 3DS, and I think the bad press kicked Nintendo in the nuts enough to get them moving. The Vita is sort of being left to die alone and unnoticed. I hope it isn't the case, since I think it's a really lovely machine and I'd love to see it do well.
Sony is struggling as a company, generally paying less attention to the games division which was once its savior. I just sincerely hope that the Vita doesn't end up like the PS Move.
Why you keep posting this? We all know by now that there isn't any must have titles in japan therefore low sales for Vita. We all know they'll come any moment now,

Before Monday I'd make some trollish, Nintendo fanboy comment here, but instead I was able to buy a Vita (WiFi) for $162.17, so I won't be doing that any longer. Come on GRAVITY RUSH, gimme gimme gimme!
One of the best parts about this thread are the people who are shocked Uncharted isn't a thing in Japan.
people were actually surprised that Vita bombed worldwide? sony were doing the exact same thing they did with original PSP - the only difference is that the price is higher(so less people buying Vita), budgets for games grown(so less games), it no longer is multimedia powerhouse like PSP was due to the popularity of the tablets(so there's no one to buy Vita as multimedia player like in 2004) and the list goes on.
add to that one of the worst launch line-up ever - one decent game at best(Uncharted) followed by few mediocre ports and a huge list of terrible shovelware and unfinished titles.

I am really starting to think console makers begin with two prices in their head, the one that diehards will pre-order at no matter what, and what everyone else might be enticed into paying. Then once they have achieved the cash grab over the first few week, they reduce to a normal price and actually start a marketing push.
sony can't afford pricecut, each Vita cost nearly 400$. that's the reason they're selling those memory cards for so much.
I still expect the Vita to bounce back in Japan, it just can't compete with the software already available for the 3DS. Down the road, I expect the Vita to struggle everywhere except Japan (when there are enough games to justify the price of the hardware). Although it will be interesting to see if the inevitable CoD Vita helps the unit catch on in North America.
I WOULD buy a Vita right now, but it not being able to play PS1 games yet is f'n killing me right now. I wanna play muh Final Fantasyz dangsarnit.
