"PS Vita getting over 100 PSOne Classics next week" do you have a typo on that 100, maybe an extra zero or something.

PsOne games might look ok on a Vita acreen - they sure as hell look like shit on a standard screen.

I wonder if you'll be able to use it as a controller for every game. And then only some games like LBP2 will feature second screen features, while the rest can still use the Vita, just not the second screen. that'd be kind of interesting.

actually I think having it work as an extra controller is a great feature, should have been there from the get go.

so is PS1 classics, but it should have more. I hacked my PSP just to play emulated PS1 games on it and ended up playing them much more than the UMD games I had.

I can finally play some Future Cop: LAPD on my Vita now; that honestly has to be my favorite game that EA has released in its history as a company.

Now they just have to solve one problem: where to store the games.

@Bullett00th did you do a pandora battery hack? worked like a charm for me with my old PSP, but I cut into the battery too deeply and it can only hold a charge for about 5 minutes haha, but luckly I bought another PSP so I can just as easily pop the PSP 3000 battery in there and play like I normally do.

@MasterBalls - the developers probably have to add support specifically for the Vita for their game. You can check a trailer from GamesCom for the implementation in LittleBigPlanet 2. Hopefully this will allow for some WiiU features in multi platform games for Vita users, but I kind of doubt we'll get more than that.

@ Baskervi11e - I can't find a list. Hoping Jim will share his source. I found the 100 games mention earlier on Pocket Gamer which sourced CVG, which didn't source anyone. I can't find any mention of this on the PlayStation Blog. IGN specifically called out FF7, Cool Boarders 2, Wild Arms, Arc the Lad, Tomb Raider, Jet Moto, and Twisted Metal 2 from their E3 hands on, so they'll probably be on the list, if the 100 games number is correct.

Does anyone know is these will be ubiquitous purchases for the Playstation platforms? Like, if I buy a few PSOne games on PS3, will they be accessible on Vita, and visa versa?

@Masterballs - The Vita is used to crossplay PS3 games on hacked PS3s by using the rear touch pad for the missing triggers and stick clicks.

RE: the actual list of the 100 games. It's not out yet. From the sleuthing I just did on the subject (involving googling "100 ps1 classics vita" and reading what came up) it appears as though this number is derived from a press release directly from Sony. Unfortunately I can't find the actual press release itself and no outlet reporting on it is actually linking to it or copypastaing it. Way to go internet.

tl;dr There is no list of the 100 games in question. We'll have to wait and see.

Ya know...you bring up that whole "hacked ps3s can do crossplay so sony sucks" thing every Vita article so I actually got curious and looked it up. You're absolutely right, dozens of games have been demonstrated to work on the vita via crossplay. Ain't that a kick in the head?

Here's the thing though. They're all plagued with hefty input lag. Know why? Because the vita... isn't the PS3, broseph. It won't run PS3 games natively. It's just not as powerful. That's why you can't just wave a magic wand and make a ps3 game play on a vita. They're different hardware.

Now it's silly for them to have sung the praises of crossplay and then done nothing with it, for sure. No debate there. That sucks. However to suggest that it's something that can be done via hacks right now is just incorrect. It's not at all that easy.

If you have a ps3 you can already stream content from it and your pc to your vita using a dlna server like ps3 media server. Also since it's just video you dont have to worry about input lag.

They're all like "Well Vita doesn't have any real games so we are going to sell games from play station 1. GENIUS!"

There better be a European release of Castlevania Symphony of the Night on the psvita store, oh and Vib-Ribbon otherwise Sony isn't going to be on my Christmas card list. Regardless plesent news i was beginning to loose hope
